DISTRUSTING GOVERNMENT
To be more completely accurate, Linden should say that he does distrust the current leadership of the democrat party and those followers who vote in lockstep to support their agenda. Although it is remotely possible that there are some democrats that Linden does not believe are actively involved in doing damage to our country on purpose, they are in the minority.

Please thoughtfully consider the comments of our white President (the Corpseman) regarding the effort made by the Republican Governor of Arizona to curtail illegal immigration. She is merely doing the job that the federal government refuses to do.

Please thoughtfully consider the latest bank bailout bill put forward by the democrats. One should be slightly distrustful since it is the product of Senator Dodd, one of those most at fault for the current financial problems because of his support for Fanny and Freddy. It appears that the Republicans have knuckled under and our willing to debate the bill. That is a bad sign! There is nothing wrong with being called “the party of no” if voting yes does harm to all that we hold dear. Linden needs to look for the song called “The Darkest Hour Is Just Before Dawn”!!

LINDEN'S LIFE
Had the usual Thursday breakfast meeting: Bill, Chuck, Jack, and I attended. Went to a store and to the post office and, in the early evening, to an eighth grade track meet. First time I’ve been to a school sporting event for a long time. Used to attend regularly. It seemed, since I will not make it over to see Alison run, I should at least check out her event at her grade level. Enjoyed it.

NEWS SOURCES
In the good old days Linden’s favorite source of commentary and news was The Indianapolis Star. Now, they often use Eugene Robinson and others of that ilk on their editorial page and, of course, The Associated Press for other “news”. Pitiful!

Linden now refers most often for accurate and honest portrayal of the news to several of the sources that he links to and he believes that Rush Limbaugh is a great source of both news and rational viewpoint.

It is unfortunate for America what has happened within the main stream (lamestream) media. The news that goes unreported by the MSM as well as that which is only opinion instead of actual news reporting has resulted in tremendous loss of readership for these “news” dispensers. The same can be said of our network “news” programs. Little wonder that many are in financial trouble.

ESTHER
Esther, a Jewess, appeared on the scene in Persia about 40 years after the temple in Jerusalem was rebuilt and 30 years before the wall there was rebuilt. She was the ward of her Uncle Mordecai, who was at the King’s palace.

Vashti, the Queen, irritated the King at a huge banquet and he had her banished. Then, his aides started a search for the next Queen and that ended up being Esther. She and Mordecai kept it a secret that she was Jewish.

Haman became Prime Minister and he developed an intense dislike for Mordecai. Haman got the King to issue an edict calling for the killing of all the Jews in the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Queen Esther had gotten the King to grant her the favor of allowing the Jews to defend themselves. She exposed Haman and he was hanged and Mordecai was made Prime Minister. Jews still celebrate Purim at the end of February each year to commemorate these events.

IMPEACHABLE?
Linden does not pretend to be knowledgeable in the area of constitutional law nor is he really conversant in criminal law but he does think he recognizes a crime when he becomes aware of one.

Even if we do not consider the taxpayer monies that are essentially stolen by illegal aliens through various welfare, health care, education, correction, etc, agencies, Linden believes that illegally entering the country itself is a crime.

Our white President, the corpseman, gives every indication that he is supportive of these illegal actions. Surely he is impeachable. It is only fair to mention that many of those in his party who are “serving” are guilty of the same crimes. Sadly, a few Republicans, including Senator McCain, are not without blemish. They should be removed from office before another election cycle arrives.

UGH!!!
After considering the revelation that some members of Congress were “not aware” of deficiencies with the healthcare bill they so quickly passed, how quickly our white President (remember, we do not wish to saddle the blacks with the responsibility for his inadequacy) was to criticize Arizona for passing an immigration related law after waiting for years for the federal government to do anything worthwhile, and further considering the bias that the current government appears to have favoring Muslims and frowning on Christians, Linden was in no mood to write in depth on any subject. You are encouraged to study the information provided in the links below.

BECOMING GREECE
Several recent news pieces have referred to the financial problems existent presently in Greece, the causes, the help needed to address the problems, the social unrest, and the similarity between the causes of their condition and the present march of our country toward socialism. One would have to be unthinking or intent upon the eventual destruction of our country to approve of the direction we are being led.

History is rife with examples of countries who have followed the path toward completion of practically devaluing their monetary system. If you are aware of this, then you can easily see the danger posed by not dismantling the recently passed “healthcare” bill, by considering approval of the value added tax, and expansion of the alternative minimum tax. Tax expansion effectively puts a stamp of approval on profligate spending!

Those ‘leaders” who support this direction are dangerous beyond words to you and those who will follow you.

Linden believes that this period of American government will go down in history as the most corrupt of all time. It is possible that he is wrong so why don’t you investigate that possibility?

The administration and Goldman Sachs are the primary sleaze factors in the “news” received by Linden. Since there is such an intertwining of the two it is difficult to imagine that anything good will come out of any “investigation”. Therefore, with the recommendation that you check out the links below, Linden will close for today.

NEHEMIAH
Nehemiah was the trusted cupbearer to the King of Persia almost 100 years after the first return of the Jews to Jerusalem. When Nehemiah was informed that there had been virtually no progress toward rebuilding the walls of the city, he prayed long and hard. This resulted in the King allowing him to go to Jerusalem for the purpose of rebuilding. The King provided some support for the effort.

The leaders of the non-Jews who lived in the area surrounding Jerusalem tried without success to block the rebuilding. Nehemiah, acting with the help of GOD, was able to effect the rebuilding of the wall in only 52 days.

In the years that followed, there was repentance of sins, general adherence to the laws and rules, and a renewed faith in GOD. Nehemiah dealt with those who strayed.

PEW RESEARCH CENTER

PEW RESEARCH CENTER
A recent survey by The Pew Research Center presented interesting (to Linden) snapshots of public opinion regarding our “leaders” in Washington, D.C.

22% of those surveyed say they can trust the Washington government most of the time while 19% say they are basically content with the federal government.

25% expressed a favorable opinion of Congress…about half of what it was a year ago. Both of these surveys returned results that were among the least favorable yet recorded.

Linden has before expressed his personal lack of faith in poll results and this one is no exception to this expressed belief. He has to believe that the favorable ratings are not nearly this high. How could he be wrong?

STORY SELECTION
As a five day a week blogger, Linden would never say that settling on the subject of the day is always an easy task. That is because what he produces is, generally speaking, an opinion piece.

Reporting on the news of the day should be much easier: an event occurs, it has some significance on some aspect of the life of some person, the reporter develops his/her version of the facts, the editor makes a decision as to whether to run with it or not. The cycle continues.

Recently the major “news” disseminators decided that their readers or listeners should be exposed to a story about how some black members of Congress were treated terribly in a mostly verbal fashion. Although no proof accompanied this story and it was largely thought to be fictional in nature, it received wide and continuing coverage.

More recently an incident of a provable physical assault occurred in New Orleans. It is receiving wide and continuing coverage by those who disseminate their message via the Internet but virtually no coverage at all by those MSM sources that so many count on to fulfill the function of responsible journalism. Since both of the incidents mentioned above have political implications, it becomes obvious that the MSM places true reporting below political considerations. This probably will not be the last piece that Linden writes on this general subject.

Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 and household related activities later. My computer was difficult to work with.

Saturday went for the Kingsway meeting at 7:30 but Lindsay, our leader, wasn’t there so the meeting was shortened and there was no breakfast. Later, Lindsay advised that he became sick as he was on his way to the meeting. Had a nice note from Dimi in Austria, a long conversation with Joyce who had just returned from a poetry meeting in Vermont, and a note from Gayle saying that Mike O’Brien had passed away.

Sunday brought church, Sunday school, and brunch in the morning. Madonna, who used to be part of our four member “back row bunch”, is back for a visit and it was good to see her. Inactivity in the afternoon and church again in the evening.

JOUSTING AT WINDMILLS
Linden is really not an authority on the subject but he does believe that each of us possess certain abilities and that, perhaps, we serve some useful purpose to others.

Events of the last few days, in which California Representative and democrat stalwart Henry Waxman threatened several businesses, who had claimed a business loss as a result of the stipulations in the “healthcare” bill, with calling them before his committee to explain their actions…only to belatedly discover that laws required them to report as they did!

Henry, as was common with the democrats, strongly supported this bill in spite of the fact that he was unaware of the contents. Since each Representative represents roughly one half million people, you would think that there is at least one other person in that District who would better represent the people. Unless, of course, there is little ability or common sense in that area. Henry decided against calling the investigative meeting.

As is usual, attended the Thursday breakfast meeting with friends. Bill was a little late and Jack didn’t make it but it was enjoyable anyhow. I called Audrey, Rubye’s sister who lives near Memphis, TN, to sing “Happy Birthday” to her. In the evening I went to another musical presentation at my church but didn’t stay for the entire program.

FLORIDA 19 SCREWS UP
Linden had hoped that Ed Lynch would be the winner in the Florida special election to replace the disgraceful Wexler. They say that he actually lived in Maryland while running in Florida. What were the voters thinking? Please delete the word “what” in the preceding sentence.

Since Lynch did not win in FL 19 this time (surely he will be on the ballot again in November), perhaps we should look at possible reasons why. It has already been established that the democrats there do not require residency so we will skip mentioning that.

Perhaps they were dropped on their heads when they were babies.

Perhaps they believed their liberal college professors.

Perhaps a mind altering drug has been injected into their water supply.

Perhaps they watch only TV network stations and read only issues provided by the “lamestream” media.

Perhaps they are so deeply into child abuse that they quiver with delight when contemplating future generation debt.

Perhaps they enjoy the suffering that will come as a result of the “Healthcare” bill.

Perhaps they want to see the Bush tax cuts expire.

Perhaps they are strong supporters of the global warming hoax.

Perhaps they actively dislike America.

Perhaps they actively dislike Israel.

Who knows??? Some people are just nuts.

Please compare the speaking ability of Sarah Palin in the link below to that of our white President (remember we do not want to leave the impression that we blame the black race for his inadequacy.) Can you imagine The Corpseman attempting a speech such as this without a brace of teleprompters?

A rather full day made less wonderful because of severe pain (again) in my lower back. Had a session with my Study Buddy at 9:00, Paul picked me up at 11:00 and took me to see my eye specialist…no new concern…see him again in six months. With my eyes being dilated, I was ready for a nap when I got home…put a pillow under my back and slept for a bit in my recliner and the pain was less severe when I awakened. Attended a wonderful piano music performance at church at 6:30…two pianists.

EZRA
Ezra recounts some of the history of the return of the two Jewish remnants to Jerusalem.

When Persia replaced Babylon as the world power, King Cyrus, in the first year of his reign, authorized, encouraged, and subsidized the return of almost 50,000 Jews for the purpose of rebuilding the temple and Jerusalem. This was in about 536 B.C.

The work started and made some progress but the people who now populated the surrounding area objected to the extent that work was halted.

Almost 70 years later, Ezra lead, with the blessing of the current king, a much smaller group to Jerusalem to fulfill the earlier expectations. He was much disturbed by the forbidden intermarriage between the Jews and the idolatrous locals. Those who had strayed in this matter agreed to send their wives and children away.

HERMAN CAIN
As Linden considered possible subjects for today’s posting, he considered the gathering of nations (no allies?) in Washington to discuss something nuclear related, the possibility that the downing of the Polish plane was not an accident, or Congress starting to discuss weighty matters again. Linden believes that you will prefer the following Herman Cain video link to any of that.

AN OBLIGATION

AN OBLIGATION
In the Andrew Breitbart video linked below he says, “we have an obligation to fight back”. Linden could not agree more! Just as we have an obligation to serve when we are at war and a draft is instituted, we have an obligation to attempt to counteract those forces of evil that too often are directing the affairs of our country.

Although Linden has at least two friends who do not totally (maybe even partially) agree with the thrust of three of the postings he made last week. In them, he chided the Republicans for not having an opponent for some of the democrats who are running for Congressional seats. Their argument being that races that are destined to be lost should not drain assets from where a better chance of victory is believed to exist.

Linden’s argument is that these hoped for campaigns need not be well funded at all, thusly not draining resources. Further, he believes that the forces for good have an OBLIGATION to ensure that some voice needs to be provided for each person within a District who approves not at all with the liberal bent of the named incumbents.

On Friday I attended Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 and at 11:00 was at church for the Dale Freeman funeral. I had never before been to a funeral exactly like it…it was a celebration of his life. His six children sang or led the congregation in several songs. They were great! Later, in an exchange of emails with Julie, she told me not to expect her and/or Brian or, for that matter, their Mother to be singing at my funeral. Guess I’ll have to revise my plans.
Saturday brought a writers group meeting, which I left early, and a Tea Party presentation of ten of the thirteen candidates for the Fourth District Congressional seat. It was well done. In the evening a group of singers from Milligan College presented a music program at church. It was very good.
Sunday brought church services and Sunday school in the morning and services again in the evening.

TEA PARTY ACTION DESIRED
On April 5 and April 6 Linden posted comments regarding his perception of the Republican Party failing to field a full slate of Congressional candidates. Appears to be a wonderful opportunity wasted. Today’s posting addresses that matter again. The picture does look just a shade better than it did in the earlier postings.

Linden’s hope is that Tea Party organizations across the nation will encourage those in the affected Districts to find a candidate to fill these important and well paying positions.

The following list shows the Congressional District, democrat incumbent, and a notation if they now appear to be opposed by a Republican or a Libertarian. Other opposition is not mentioned.

Met Bill, Chuck, and Paul for breakfast. I just had toast and coffee because I knew I would want to load up with food at the Golden Glows luncheon. I bought a cake to take and I did eat like a pig. There were probably 150 attendees. The program presented by Betty Gray was tremendous; I had previously seen her work a time or two at Johnson Bible College and expect to see her there again around the first of June.
In the evening I went to a calling at church for one of our very active members who just passed away following a long illness.

The plan was to continue discussing those Congressional Districts that need a Republican candidate. Ohio eighth grade granddaughter, Alison, called to tell me that she was on the track team and will be running the hurdles and possibly the 400 or on a relay team. I expect her to develop into a good one in that sport…she certainly does well at soccer. Went to church in the evening…usually have dinner there but the kitchen hot water heater went out.

II CHRONICLES
The first nine chapters have to do with the very good relationship between Solomon and The LORD. Solomon was King over all of Israel for forty years and then died. His son, Rehoboam became King.

In short order Rehoboam had caused the ten Northern tribes to break away, leaving him only the tribes of Benjamin and Judah. He turned his back on The LORD and warred with Israel and finally lost much of the power of his kingdom to the Egyptians. He died and his son, Abijah, became King.

Abijah won a big battle with Israel and appeared to be a godly King as was, mostly, his son, Jehoshaphat, until right before he died.

Of the following sixteen kings, twelve could easily be rated as bad, Hezekiah and Josiah were good while Jotham and Jehoahaz were so-so.

As the book ends, roughly 535 years before the coming of Jesus Christ, Babylon has destroyed Jerusalem and enslaved the living population. Later, King Cyrus of Persia decreed that the people could return to and rebuild Jerusalem.

UNOPPOSED DEMOCRATS (2)
This listing of Republican failures to provide candidates in Congressional Districts is believed to be valid as of about April 1, 2010. It is, of course, not guaranteed to be absolutely accurate.

Many of us believe that our country has been in decline since the democrats became the majority Congressional party in 2006. Please do what you can to ensure that these democrats, many of them entrenched, will be opposed by a candidate of Conservative belief. States Montana through Wyoming were checked for this second listing. Of these 25 States, it appears (in Linden’s opinion) that the Republicans did their job well in 21 States. Following are comments regarding the other 4 states.

New Jersey…filing deadline April 12. No Republican candidate in Congressional Districts 1, 8, 9, 10, and 13. There is a Libertarian in CD 1.

New York…filing deadline July. No Republican candidate in CD 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 16, 21, 27, and 28. An Independent has filed in CD 8.

South Carolina…major party filing deadline has passed; other parties have until August 16. No opponent yet for the democrat in CD 6.

Washington…filing deadline June. No opponent yet for the democrat in CD 6.

Linden will probably have a wrap-up (for now) of this subject on Thursday.

Left home early to get donuts to take to Voter Registration. The donut shop was closed so purchased some at a grocery. Drove the roughly 15 miles to Danville and, again, was the first in the county to vote. That means that I and those others I support were for at least a moment leading the ticket. This year I am just running to be a Delegate to the Republican State Convention. I have been selected to be a delegate I believe 15 times but am not confident this year; I appear far down on the list of those who have filed.
Later, I helped Harold take some rocks from the goldfish pond area and put them in his truck. He moved one rock and there was a snake under it.
Had some rain and hail in the evening. I found an old book to leaf through…it had belonged to my Dad and I wasn’t aware of its existence. For dinner I fixed a baked potato, baked a meat loaf that Sheri had brought some time ago, and warmed up a piece of each of the two Danish Kringles that Katia had sent me. Great meal!
Watched 24 and Butler basketball later.

UNOPPOSED DEMOCRATS (1)
This listing of Republican failures to provide candidates in Congressional Districts is believed to be valid as of about April 1, 2010. It is, of course, not guaranteed to be absolutely accurate.

Many of us believe that our country has been in decline since the democrats became the majority Congressional party in 2006. Please do what you can to ensure that these democrats, many of them entrenched, will be opposed by a candidate of Conservative belief. States Alabama through Mississippi were checked for this first listing. Of these 25 States, it appears (in Linden’s opinion) that the Republicans did their job well in 16 States. Following are comments regarding the other 9 states.

California…filing deadline for major parties was March 17. There is still time to find independent or write in candidates.
No Republican candidates in Districts 9, 12, 14, 16, 17, 31, 32, 34, 35, 38, and 43. There is a Libertarian in District 14. How good it is to see that Star Parker, who is frequently mentioned by Linden, is running in District 37. http://www.starparkerforcongress.com/

Colorado…filing deadline May, 2010.
No Republican candidate in CD 1, there is a Libertarian.

Connecticut…filing deadline late June, 2010.
No Republican candidate in CD 1.

Georgia…filing deadline April 30.
No Republican candidate in CD 5.

Illinois…too late for Republicans…third party deadline June 21.
democrats in CD 1 and CD 4 are presently unopposed.

Maryland…filing deadline is July 6.
democrat in CD 2 is opposed by a Libertarian and the democrat in CD 7 is unopposed.

Massachusetts…filing deadline is June 6.
The democrat in CD 8 is opposed by a Constitution party candidate.

Michigan…filing deadline May 11.
The democrats in CD 13 and CD 14 have no Republican opponent.

Minnesota…filing deadline June 1.
CD 5 has no Republican candidate. The Independent and the Independence parties have fielded candidates.

Linden expects to report regarding the other 25 States tomorrow.

LINDEN'S LIFE
First, please be aware that a local Tea Party group will sponsor a 4th District Congressional candidate forum from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds.
www.indydefenderswest.net

My Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at my church at 6:00 and ended with a great Easter program at church.
Saturday brought another breakfast at Kingsway church and ended with me watching another Butler basketball win.
Sunday was church services and Sunday school in the morning. Then, drove to the Eastside of Indianapolis where Sam and Shirley too me (again) to a great buffet at the former Ft. Harrison Officer’s Club. Along with we three, their daughter, her daughter, son, and daughter-in-law and another couple with their two year old twin boys enjoyed the meal and the relationships.

EVEN A BLIND PIG
Will find an acorn every once in a while as the old Russian saying tells us. Never ever did Linden think he would be presenting and approving of an article which appeared in Pravda. Julie provided a similar link to trigger this posting. Click on the following link to view Linden’s change of heart:

The original Pravda apparently closed about 20 years ago and was brought back to life by former staffers a few years later. Following is a link to a recent issue:

LINDEN'S LIFE
While driving to the restaurant to meet Bill and Chuck for our Thursday breakfast the light was just starting to break in the East and an almost full moon was evident in the West; it was beautiful. Breakfast was good, too.

Back home, a couple of the guys who do so much work around the property were outside. I helped them (a little) to load some rocks onto a trailer. Check off exercise for today.

Tyler Leland, our children’s minister, and I had dinner together. After that, I went to a “meet and greet” for Sheriff candidate, Jim Querry.

In a departure from the norm, Linden plans on posting a link to an Easter season song on both Saturday and Sunday.

POLLING
I suppose April Fool’s Day is as good as any other day for Linden to express his long held lack of faith in poll results. Practically any of them can distort the results. This is particularly true of a poll of the on-line type. But, both Carl and Chuck provided me with a link to a CBS poll regarding our white President, the corpseman. You should know that Linden no longer thinks of him as being black. After all, he is half white and it appears to be racially insensitive to saddle the black race with all of the blame for his incompetence.

The poll rates him in ten different areas and grades of A through F are assigned. Following are the A and F percentage results as of the time Linden took the test:
Economy A= 3.99 F= 68.67
Foreign Policy A= 5.94 F=59.99
Health Care A= 5.88 F= 79.63
Afghanistan A= 5.18 F= 31.23
Iraq A= 5.22 F= 35.19
Threat of Terrorism A=5.92 F= 58.41
Energy and Environment A= 4.97 F= 56.42
Social Issues A= 5.87 F= 58.87
Bipartisanship A= 5.85 F= 78.91
Overall Job As President A= 5.4 F= 63.98

His best showing was the war in Afghanistan where the D and F grades totaled 54.04%. It should be noted that in areas other than the wars his grade of F never fell below 56%. One has to wonder if those who assigned him A grades may not be teachers in poorly performing schools. Linden rated him as a C in each of the wars and F elsewhere. A link to the poll follows:

LINDEN'S LIFE
Since the Plainfield schools are having their spring break time, I had no Study Buddy session today. Did go to the post office and grocery. It was such a nice day that I almost did some outside work…overcame that urge…took a nap instead. Getting (being) old is not all bad!
