OBAMA OVERLOAD #7 (LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY)

First, this is to let you know that Linden is providing you with the infrequent opportunity to catch up on his previous writings…he intends to take a few days off from the heavy responsibility of providing his readers with writings that will add to their knowledge in general and more specifically their political knowledge. Now, on to today’s lesson.

All but the really stupid or completely uncaring must be aware that responsibility comes with leadership. Primary responsibility for the well being, in all regards, of our country rests upon the shoulders of the one who is elected to “serve” as President. Of course, some responsibility rests upon the shoulders of legislative and judicial leaders and to a perhaps lesser extent with appointees. Those voters who are starting to think are starting to assign responsibility.

It is unfortunate for our country that Barack Obama and those who voted for him did not realize that his attachment to golfing, partying, vacationing, and flying would have a negative impact upon his finding time to be a leader. So, it is past time for numerous indictments.

As is usual, Thursday began with breakfast with the guys and was followed shortly after with lunch with Paul and Judy, In the evening, I attended the Hendricks County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner. The food was good, I saw several people that I rarely see anymore and the speeches by Todd Rokita, our 4^th District Congressman, Connie Lawson the Indiana Secretary of State, and Eric Holcomb, Indiana Republican Party Chairman, were all very good. It lasted less than two hours and was very enjoyable.

Of all the grand schemes to waste taxpayer money it is doubtful that there were any that were even close to being as effective as the Obama stimulus. It was masterful to combine propping up the unions while concurrently subsidizing crazy “energy” undertakings. As if there is really any solid scientific proof that global warming is a reality. Masterful, indeed! Please do not think for a minute that President Obama himself is guilty of mismanagement…he simply did not have the time to provide the leadership that the projects needed. So, your grandchildren should not despise him as they wonder how in the world the national debt became so large.

It is too much to expect a person such as our President, who has tremendous golf game, White House party, fundraising, and campaigning responsibilities, to extract the meaning of the 2^nd Amendment as it affects individual rights. He is too busy to be super knowledgeable in every little thing that affects the lives of his servants. You need to be more understanding and forgiving.

On Tuesday, after dropping off my recyclables, I met Bill Wash and three of his kids for breakfast. It was a very pleasant way to start the day. Later, I went by the Chamber office (it was closed) and on to the post office where I picked up a bunch of mostly junk mail. Had a very good dinner at the Avon American Legion Post.

Sunday evening Linden watched the movie Saving Private Ryan… it was his second viewing of this very sad flick. Starting with the old man walking thru the cemetery full of American crosses at the graves of soldiers who had given their lives, it brought tears to the eyes. It was truly a different generation. We had real leaders at that point in our history. Not now. Our current President, being overloaded with vacations and fund raising efforts does not even have the time to address the issue of the flood of illegal immigrants flooding into our country. Why should God help us? You may find the link below to be interesting. LEGAL immigrants should rise up in anger.

Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. In the evening, I became Donna’s partner in her euchre group…Kent was playing golf in Tennessee. I didn’t win but had a good time.

Saturday I had the early meeting with the Kingsway guys…I gave the reading. Later, I attended a writing seminar in Danville. At home, I watched a horse race on TV…didn’t pick the winner. Talked to Brian.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance followed by a music related meeting. In the afternoon I went to the surprise anniversary party for Bill and Barbara Furman. Talked to Brian again.
I’m happy to report that the Mark Proctor project previously mentioned became fully funded and that I’m still enjoying listening to my old records… a song link is below.

Linden has heard some “news” references to President Obama being too busy to stay on top of his responsibilities. (The news clip was not worded exactly that way.) Perhaps this advice will help him…play less golf, have fewer (if any) White House parties in the evenings, take fewer (if any) vacations. Surprise!!! You were elected to do a difficult job…if it is too much for you, resign. Linden believes that there are at least five major scandals that you appear to be unable to handle effectively. The day started with breakfast at Chick-fil-A and I went on from there to two groceries, the gas station, the credit union, the post office, and by the church.  Dan and Diana came by and Dan joined me in eating a couple of cookies and having coffee. Diana didn’t join in the feast. They had given me some easy to bake cookies and I baked them a bit too long. Good tho.

A few of us are old enough to remember when the sign on President Truman’s desk read “THE BUCK STOPS HERE”. The sign on the desk of our present President must read “THE BUCK DOESN’T STOP HERE”.  Obama professes to be completely unaware of any personal shortcoming or responsibility in the areas involving Benghazi, the IRS, the AP, Fast & Furious, illegal immigration, or gun control. We must face it, those who voted for him caused the election of one who is just naturally thick, or has memory lapses, or is an accomplished liar, is anti American, or is wildly incompetent. Or, could Linden be wrong?

Finally we are getting some coverage regarding the murder of the Americans in Benghazi and perhaps some insight as to who is primarily responsible for what must be the cover-ups of governmental inefficiencies. The political ramifications could include the weakening of the Obama influence, the dashing of the Presidential hopes of Hillary Clinton and her gaggle of supporters, and a focus upon the politically influenced Pentagon. It was sad but not surprising to see the democrat committee members attempt to deflect attention from those responsible for attempting to cover up the insult to America. Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, had a nice long talk with niece, Joyce.

Saturday found me at Chapel Rock CC at 7:30 for a good breakfast and a good lesson delivered by Fred Rodkey. Watched the Kentucky Derby and one other race: would have lost on the Derby and won on the other race.

Church and Sunday school attendance started my Sunday. In the evening, went to a pitch-in dinner at church followed by a report from the Wash family regarding their missionary work in Tanzania. A great effort!

Disliking Obama may well be one of the easiest approaches one may take…not just as a President but as his general attitude. Linden has never compiled such a list…maybe he is just too busy. So, it is with some pleasure that he provides the following link.

I saw Bill Wash in the parking lot as I was on my way to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. I visited with him, Dan and Diana for a bit. The Wash family returned from serving in Tanzania last night and will be in the Mission House for a few months. After breakfast, I went to a grocery, the post office, and by Paul and Judy’s for a few minutes. Wednesday being Jade’s 5^th birthday, I had an enjoyable phone visit with her and Julie in the afternoon. On Thursday I will be praying that Paul’s time with the eye specialist will bring nothing but good news regarding his vision. Feel free to join me.

APRIL CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Attendance at Plainfield Christian Church is a continuing blessing for all who attend. Sunday services featured Steve White and Tim Gephart presenting a study of Ephesians through 3:21: Steve led the first, third and fourth Sundays while Tim led the second Sunday while Steve was at TCM in Austria.

Mike Isaacs led my Sunday school class in the study of 2nd Samuel.

John Meding, Tim Gephart, and Larry Bellville led the Wednesday evening services which I attended. Subjects were Dare to Change, Dare to Believe, and Dare to Trust.

Two of our Friday morning Men’s Prayer Breakfasts were led by Steve White, one by Mike Isaacs and the other by one of the leaders of I.D.E.S.

The prayer and reading at our Thursday small group breakfast were given by Wayne, Bill, Jack, and Chuck.

 
Fred Rodkey led the April 6 meeting at Chapel Rock CC, an estate planning seminar was presented at Fair Haven CC at our April 15 CDCMF meeting, Jeff and I presented readings and and I believe it was either Lloyd or Mike who gave the closing prayer at our meeting at Kingsway, while David and Patti Jefferson gave a touching report regarding the health concerns concerning their granddaughter, McKenna, at our Golden Glows luncheon. The Jefferson’s will soon leave the PCC ministry to continue to provide care for McKenna in Cincinnati.

Tuesday brought cinnamon rolls with a friend for breakfast. Later, I dropped off my recyclables, went to the post office, credit union, and by the church. In the evening, had dinner at the Avon Legion Post.

Please join me in praying that Nicholas Goldsberry will find the perfect position for him in the ministry. He is a talented young man with a Masters degree, speaks Spanish and, I believe, some Chinese. He is an amazing person who is limited in the eyes of some by being blind.
