COMMENTARY: THE “NEVER TRUMPERS”:
Linden has said before that Donald Trump was not his first choice to be President of our country and that he doubts that he would like him on the personal level: that does not matter now, what matters most is for us to select from the two major parties the one candidate who will perhaps be best for America. Anything else could easily provide support for a continuation of the Obama disaster. Linden believes that GOD has favored our country for over two hundred years in spite of the fact that some of our leaders, like Linden, are sinners. The two articles linked below continue this thought in a somewhat different tone.

COMMENTARY: BABBIN ADVISES TRUMP
When the well written Jed Babbin article linked below mentioned two things capturing Linden's attention it was easy to decide just what should be presented for your approval. The idea that Trump should quickly announce his willingness as President to enter into a trade agreement with Britain and also put a stop to the unfair portion that the American taxpayer shoulders of United Nations costs exactly mirrored Linden's thinking. I expect you to approve of the thinking illustrated in the article.

COMMENTARY: LINDEN WAS PUZZLED
Puzzled because I know or know of at least two writer, thinkers that I admire very much: both have expressed the intention to not vote for President in the upcoming election. My problem was how to effectively disagree with their stated intention. Now it is apparent to me that I do not have the writing/thinking skill to most effectively make a case for my difference of opinion. Luckily, I discovered the article linked below that expresses my belief very, very well. Please read it.

Monday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A then had new windshield wipers installed, went to two stores, and the post office. Back home, I was busy in the outside heat for a short time, got dizzy and was ineffective the rest of the day. Maureen and Jan came by for a few minutes: Maureen talked to Tammy at Voter Registration in Danville about absentee voting from a foreign country. Good mail today: it included a note from a representative of a radio station I had supported as part of my Bless A Stranger effort. You can hear it at http://krhsfm.com/ I listened to it a bit.

Linden admires Lloyd: our skins may be colored differently but our minds seem to be quite similar. What a shame it is that the average black voter does not take the time or perhaps have the ability to compare their present societal condition with the condition of the majority of the black families before they became slaves of the democrat party. Friday started with the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast with Maureen bing the speaker: she later moved into the Mission House. She, Steve, and Jerry came by later to see me as did Dan.
Saturday brought breakfast at the Legion Post: Ron, Don, John, Rich, Anna, and Marsha joined me: good food and I enjoyed being there. Later, I finished reading “Unbroken” a Father's Day gift from Julie...may be the best book I've read. While reading I had the RTE Limerick Limerick station on the computer...lots of good music including The Marriage of Figaro opera.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by paper reading, computer usage and other stuff.

COMMENTARY: LINDEN THE TORCHBEARER
On 6-22-16 I, Linden Swift, received a certificate stating that I had been nominated to be a Hendricks County Torchbearer during the 2016 Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay. To say that I am pleased to be so honored would be an understatement.
Further analysis of this nomination caused me to visualize these 86-year-old legs running and my wrinkled arms holding a torch aloft and to consider the possibility that one of my children had overestimated the value of my estate or that this unknown nominator actually wished me ill. No, I refuse to accept either of these possibilities: some unknown person actually holds me in high regard. Thank you.

Wednesday started with me going out for breakfast then on to a gas station, two stores and the post office. I received a nice letter and certificate regarding being a Torchbearer in the celebration mentioned above. I was not selected. COMMENTARY: GENDER TRUMPS DECENCY?
Confession: I borrowed the commentary title from the article linked below. It is, I believe, unfortunate that a too large percentage of the voting public will choose a person, Hillary Clinton, a person with a record of little personal accomplishment coupled with a matching record of dishonesty, to be the leader of our country. What are they thinking??? What would such a person think of a man who chose a leader only because he was another man? The answer is, the man would be considered to be STUPID! They would be correct.

Friday brought Men's Prayer Breakfast and a presentation by missionaries and Anver told me he had retained possession of The Linden H. Swift Memorial Last Place Award at the PCC group's golf outing in Tennessee last week. Later, I went by the doctor's office, the credit union, and the post office.
Saturday started with breakfast at Chick-fil-A then I went to the post office and a funeral. Later, Brian called.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance. In the afternoon I had a good phone visit with Julie and Jade. Later I talked to Brian and Sheri as they were on their way to see an NBA game. Sheri wasn't feeling well but will be cured if her team wins. Her team won!

The vast majority of the media and democrat politicians appear to be incapable of judging without bringing personal bias into play. COMMENTARY: BETTER IN 2008??
It seems fair to ask if you were more satisfied with your approach to handling healthcare expenses in 2008 than you are today. Linden believes that the vast majority of the taxpaying public will say “YES”. Some of my readers may not wish to remember that this terrible and costly blunder was brought to you with absolutely no Republican support. Tuesday: After dropping off recyclables I drove to the VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, had a blood draw followed by something to eat then saw the doctor. That went OK then I was disappointed that the eye clinic couldn't see me. It rained so hard on the way home that I pulled off the road for a while. Picked up my mail and received a large print edition of “Unbroken” from Julie and proof copies of my latest writing effort. Look forward to going through both books. I was tired so took a nap. Corresponded with Alison, Brian and Julie. Watched a 4 hour movie in the evening so went to bed late.

COMMENTARY: DEFINITIONS
Dishonesty appears to be rampant within what passes as our news sources: the words “racist” and “right wing radical” are used so frequently that they have very little, if any, real meaning. It is doubtful that you have been exposed to the contents of the two articles linked below.

COMMENTARY: CORPORATE LEADERSHIP
It would seem that the primary, if not the only responsibility of those in corporate leadership positions is to attempt to maximize the financial growth of the corporation. The article linked below addresses a portion of that belief. It appears that the leadership of Target stores decided that financial well being is less important than bathroom occupancy. Other so minded corporations should pay a like penalty.

On Friday, Due to VBS there was no early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast. Went to the church later to see the 4th day VBS closing ceremonies over 900 excited kids were led by about 300 probably tired adults. It was Great!
Saturday I missed my writers group meeting because I went to the Indiana Blue Star Salute at the Danville Fairgrounds. Zoc presented us with another great event: a Huey helicopter, more than 200 motorcyclists, and 3 skydivers. I talked to Carol Ford of Indy Honor Flight: she took a picture of the two of us and forwarded it to Stephanie who responded favorably. I was there for about four hours.
Sunday church services were a little different: led by Steve White and Josh Masterman they focused on the week of VBS. It was well done and the attendance was large. I Came home because I thought Sunday School classes were canceled. I was wrong. I listened to about four hours of music on RTE while doing paperwork. I also went to the Mission House to meet the Diaz family: they are from Chile and came to lead the VBS effort.

COMMENTARY: JUSTICE IS BLIND
While it may be true that justice is blind by no means does that mean that all judges are unbiased. One only needs to look at our four liberal Supreme Court Justices to realize the truth of the statement. Although Linden finds much fault with the language often used by Donald Trump, based partially upon the contents of the two articles linked below, Linden is sympathetic with the Trump questioning the impartiality of the judge hearing his case.

COMMENTARY: QUALIFICATION CHANGE NEEDED
Linden listened to a bit of the Rush Limbaugh show on Wednesday: Mark Steyn was the very capable guest host. One of the announcements made was that one of the winners of the Alaskan girls state track championships was a person physically equipped with a penis!!! This is nuts (no pun intended.) This is only one of the disgusting elements of the Obama legacy. God help us. Please.

COMMENTARY: MAY CHRISTIAN STUDIES:
Riley Weaver delivered one message from the pulpit, Tim Gephart delivered one and Steve White three presentations based on Ecclesiastes. John Lee based the Sunday School lessons on Galatians and Ephesians. Thursday devotions were led by Lloyd, me, and Paul: I missed our 4th meeting. Riley Weaver delivered one and Steve White three of the Friday Men's Prayer Breakfast messages. I attended the men's breakfasts at Kingsway and Chapel Rock and was exposed to much good music while at Johnson University in Tennessee.

Monday my back was less painful than the day before so I went to a gas station, a store, the post office and had breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Later, I went by the church and corresponded with Brian.

COMMENTARY: IT WAS A GOOD TRIP:
65 Golden Glows members boarded the bus bound for Johnson University near Knoxville, TN at 7:00 A.M. on Monday, May 30. We had lunch in Lexington, Ky and arrived at the U. at around 3:30 settled in our nice rooms then had a good dinner. In the evening there were mentions of Memorial Day and great music by the Darrel Webb band and Tommy and John Thomas Oaks. Then ice cream and back to the dorms.
The next three days were filled with choices of meals, programs, instructions, and a variety of individual choices. On Friday we retraced our steps back to Plainfield. Believe it was the 13th time I've made this enjoyable trip to Johnson.

Saturday Lloyd took me to Chapel Rock for the men's breakfast. Later, I bought a lamp at a garage sale, went to a grocery, picked up a stack of mail, was busy at home, talked to Brian, watched some Rugby and listened to music, including The Marriage of Figaro, on RTE.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance and Chuck sent a cake home with me...GOOD! My back was a bit painful so I didn't make it to Grace Proctor's graduation open house.
