COMMENTARY: GOD, COUNTRY AND FAMILY:
Linden does not know where the words in the title of this commentary originated but he does consider them to be a pretty good guideline for life.
GOD is all powerful and sets a standard that is impossible for a human to meet. Showing his love for us he has provided a means whereby our sins can be forgiven.
I believe that GOD knowingly provided the foundation of our COUNTRY for us and is offended by actions detrimental to the well being of our COUNTRY.
I believe FAMILY may include friends and that HE expects us to consider the well being of them and our descendants.

Thursday only Chuck and I made it to our usual breakfast meeting. He brought me a peach he had gotten the day before in Southern Indiana...it was the largest and best tasting ever. I then went to a store and the post office and talked to Maureen a bit at the Mission House. Dan and Diana came by for a visit. I had a fall that was a bit painful and caused a little bleeding on my left arm. In regard to today's above commentary you are correct if you think that I believe that Hillary Clinton and the party she represents fail the COUNTRY and FAMILY test.

Wednesday found my old body to be in a very tired condition. In the morning I napped in the recliner and Diana brought Todd's two children by for bottles of water. I enjoyed lunch with a friend, picked up my mail, and napped again.

Tuesday, after dropping off my recyclables and picking up my post office mail Rich took me to The Tamale Place for a bite to eat then on to The VA Eye Clinic where the exam went well. Back home we visited a bit and after he left the pest control man came by. I thought, wrongly, that I might have to have the eyes dilated and greatly appreciated Rich covering the transportation for me. It was a good day made even better when Brian called.

COMMENTARY: SUPPORTING AMERICAN IDEALS:
At one time Linden, without reason, felt that GOD judged some sins to be much more damning than others. Linden believed that adultery was the most unforgivable sin...he no longer believes that. Of course, Linden is not in a position where he can speak for GOD in all regards but he does believe that HE hates all sin. The article linked below appears to further address this subject.

Friday brought the usual Men's Prayer Breakfast and, later, poor meal planning: I tried making a pot of beans...Julie would not have bragged on my effort and I carelessly missed the good food at my Sunday School Class party.
Saturday Sam came out and we had the good breakfasts and visits at the Legion Post. He brought me a copy of the Bloomington IL Pantgagraph: I carried that paper when I was in the 8th grade and living with a sister's family.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. Following that I drove to Ft. Harrison to join in the celebration of Sam and Shirley's 60th wedding anniversary: saw some people I rarely see and met some new ones. Had a great meal and a very nice time. Back in Plainfield I joined the crowd wishing Brian Leslie well as he moves from being a leader of the church to being a Professor at Johnson University. Saw Josh and Megan in the parking lot and, later, Kent and Donna dropped by for a minute.

Wednesday I went out for breakfast, and went to two stores, a gas station and the post office. At lunch time I received a call from Maureen...she had been involved in an accident...was not hurt and I expect it to work out okay. I will say that it seems to be hard to make phone contacts. Lloyd and two of his grandchildren walked over for a short visit and then Dan and Diana dropped by. In the evening Rich came by and we went to a meeting at the Elks Club.

Tuesday was a very good day: Lloyd picked up at 6:45 in the morning and we went to the GOP Chairman's Breakfast at Prestwick. Mike was vacationing but Erin Engels very capably assumed his role. John Crane, candidate for the Indiana State Senate from this District was the speaker and a very good job he did. I also enjoyed visiting with him and his wife after the meeting closed. They are a most impressive duo. Later, long term friend Joyce called but we were again unable to plan a meeting. Julie called for a long and very pleasant phone visit...I would love to see more of my kids. Maureen and I had a very nice and long visit while having lunch at the Plainfield Chick-fil-A: her son, Aaron came by shortly before the conclusion of our time together. Although I addressed virtually none of the tasks I should be performing, I had a wonderful day.

Monday started with me spending some time trying to find my glasses. When I found them I celebrated by treating myself to biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A. Later I went to a bank a store, and the post office and even later, got a haircut. In the evening went to a CDCMF meeting at Valley Mills Christian Church...good food and a good program.

Thursday started with breakfast with the guys at 8:00 then went to a store and the post office. At 11:30 attended the Golden Glows luncheon: the food was good as was the presentation on IDES by Ryan Chapman. I said a few words about IDES too. Later, Ashton joined me in watching the Honor Flight DVD I borrowed from Ron.

Wednesday was an incredibly busy day: my computer access wasn't working so my day started with me going out for breakfast. The computer started working later so we resumed our love/hate relationship. Then, I had a very long stressful visit with a very nice nice cell phone representative...it is closer now than it was to being usable. Then, I watched a long DVD that was concerned with Honor Flight formation in Wisconsin. Went out for dinner with a friend.

COMMENTARY: JUNE CHRISTIAN STUDIES:
I usually keep notes of my activities but not surprisingly I can't find them So, from flawed memory: Steve White continued with the study of Ecclesiastes from the pulpit while John Lee and Mike Isaacs went from Ephesians to Proverbs in the Sunday School class. As always, had good Thursday meetings and devotions with the guys. The first Wed. and Thu. Of the month devotions were at Johnson University. We did not have the first Friday Men's Breakfast meeting due to VBS, the next two featured a missionary and a teacher and the last had Steve touching upon Ecclesiastes. Had the usual good Saturday meetings at Chapel Rock and Kingsway and a good CDCMF meeting at Southport Heights Christian Church.

Tuesday started with Paul and I having breakfast at The Diner then he took me to see the eye specialist on the North side of Indianapolis: with my eyes being dilated, I didn't come close to getting active until late afternoon but the day wasn't wasted as they came and installed a new water heater. Happy day! Had several phone calls including one from Joyce Brinkman: we hadn't visited in quite a while so it was really nice to hear from her...she thought she might come to a store in Plainfield and wondered if we could get together if she did. There was no way I could today. She had been a judge at an Indianapolis 500 related poetry contest and had written a really great race related poem to read to the contestants.

COMMENTARY: JUSTICE SELECTION:
The American public is cursed with at least four Supreme Court Justices who appear to be much more interested in supporting the liberal way than they are with dispensing justice. We must not elect a liberal (Hillary) if we want to have any hope of having a justice system that dispenses justice. You may find the linked article interesting.

Monday started at 3:00 A.M. for me and I could not get back to sleep. Later, I met Mary at Four Seasons in Greenwood for breakfast at 9:30. Back home, I had a short nap then the plumber came by and discovered that the supply company had sent the wrong water heater so it will be at least another day before I enjoy hot water out of the faucet. Oh well!, I've had worse experiences. In the evening Rich picked me up: we ate at Chick-fil-A and attended a meeting at the Legion Post.

COMMENTARY: THE WAR ON THE CHURCH:
You do not need to be very bright to realize that our country has gone backward in many areas in recent years: our country as we knew it is in real trouble in many areas if it is not already lost. One, and only one of many, areas suffering is the condition of the church after years of spiritual warfare against liberalism. Friday started with the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast. Other than picking up my mail I was unproductive the rest of the day
Saturday I awakened at 1:30 to the sound of a problem with the water heater: I couldn't figure out how to shut off the water and electricity to it so called Kent who was, luckily, awake. He came over and quickly found what I couldn't. Needless to say, the remainder of the night was restless. Kent called a plumber early and they both came by later. Looks like it may be fixed Monday.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Was not totally inactive the rest of the day. Heard from Sheri: she had been stung by a wasp and the picture of the sting on her foot looked painful.

COMMENTARY: GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR GRANDKIDS??:
The article linked below compares the results of a known security breach similar to those committed by Hillary Clinton to those that would be imposed upon an army officer. I'm relatively certain that the penalties mentioned would include those who serve in the enlisted ranks, that is of little comparison importance. The question for you to answer is a person of this caliber what you actually believe would cause a suitable legacy to be left for those who follow you in the path of life. Think carefully. The following words were the close of my July 7 posting.
Until now, every person who has served in any capacity that is part of “security service”: knows that there is a price to pay, often a severe penalty, if you fail to keep your sworn oath that you would absolutely safeguard all matters that relate to national security. To say that I was absolutely stunned and deeply saddened by the events elaborated on in the below link would be a monumental understatement.
