BRAINWASHING?
Although Linden failed to notice any mention of the upcoming September eighth Obama presentation to schoolchildren in The Wednesday Indianapolis Star, he did hear it mentioned several times on the radio and found the link below to a great Michelle Malkin piece addressing the subject. He is also presenting a link to the teacher engaged in brainwashing.

Since our President has demonstrated time and again that being truthful is not one of his strong points, it behooves each of us to be very careful in our analysis of what he says. Many youngsters, and, unfortunately, many oldsters, have not yet developed this analytical ability.

It is Linden’s fervent hope that the Indiana educational authorities will refuse to allow this to be presented in our school systems. Please check out the links.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Went to grocery stores and post office. Did some ironing and had a good call from Brian. We had our first church Wednesday night session of the fall season: fried chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob, salad, coffee, and maybe the best strawberry shortcake I’ve ever sampled. Also had a very good study session.

Sixty years ago on Sept. 3, a totally oblivious Linden married for the first time. About five years later, while Linden was in Alaska, she found a better bet. Had an extremely negative effect on his life for a number of years. Here is a sonnet that appears in one of my books:

PRETTY RUTH

Linden H. Swift

When I was young and really stupid
I felt an arrow shot by Cupid
There was so much I did not know
But I could not control my libido.
So there I was on bended knee
Asking Pretty Ruth to marry me.
The first years went by in a blur
And I mostly got along with her.

The Air Force then became my duty
So I left behind my raving beauty.
Months later came the “Dear John” letter,
She thought she’d found someone better.
Ruthless was I for a span
Then I became another’s man.
