2009/2010

2009/2010
Since starting these postings, something like 560 postings ago, Linden has usually at this time of year commented upon his accomplishments in the past year and his plans for the coming year. Here is this installment.

Undoubtedly the biggest disappointment of 2009 was the actions taken by the democrat leadership of our country: Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. GOD save us.

Otherwise, probably the best thing was the efforts my children, Brian and Julie, make to stay in contact with me. Countless phone calls and emails. Julie visits in person about once a month on average and often has Jade (now 19 months) with her. Kenneth joined them once. Brian and usually one or another of his family makes it about once every three months. I am blest. In another vein, my health and vision are not noticeably worse than they were at the start of the year.

My stated plans for 2009 included:
Writing and publishing another book. Did that.
Develop a board game. Did that, improvement needed.
Continue posting this blog. Did that.
Attempt to expand book and CD sales. Some better.
Travel to Johnson Bible College with church group. Did that.

Thanks to Julie nagging, I have a cleaning lady come in when I think of it. I fell only two or three times and only one of them can be classified as a bad fall. Probably wasn’t noticeably sick over a half dozen times. I decided early in the year to divert a portion of my book and CD sales monies to a worthwhile cause and I am very pleased with that effort. More about that later in January.

Plans for 2010:
Continue writing and publishing, blog posting, routine activities, and go to Johnson Bible College again. Probably will not mess with the board game again. In 2008, I told Brian that we should go to Spain in 2010 and do the last 100 kilometers of the pilgrimage—that is probably out of the question—oh to be 75 again! I would still love to spend some time in Ireland and another trip to Austria would be nice—probably neither of these will ever happen.

I had intended to not include any links in this posting—then I thought that you may have activity needs over the long weekend. Here are some:

This is such a good Obama related piece that it will be added to the semi-permanent link list that usually appears near the end of the posting: H/T Bob and Barbara

With media it is no wonder that stupidity reigns:
