WEEKEND SNIPPETS
I suppose a critic could easily say, with justification, that Linden made not a great deal of progress in his own campaign for public office but, Linden is pretty happy with the last few days which started with the usual Friday morning Men's Prayer Breakfast.
Saturday brought another usual men's breakfast meeting at another local church to start the day. This was followed with life maintenance activities and ended with a pitch-in dinner at Church with my Sunday School class. I, also as usual, took cake. I also took some pictures of my 2005 pilgrimage to Spain, Julie's 2006 wedding in Louisiana, and my 2007 mission trip to Austria. Guess I should have said "Julie and Kenneth's wedding." When I returned home, there was a message from Pete in Maine regarding our CD recording effort. Somewhere in the above fell a welcome call from an old friend in Louisiana.
Sunday brought Church, Sunday School, brunch with friends, paper reading, a nap, and watched more than I should have of an Indiana University basketball team loss to Michigan State. As I was getting ready to go to our evening church services there was a rap on the door, I answered and it was Chris Irwin, one of the missionaries we support. His area is Ecuador. He asked if I was aware that he was scheduled to stay in The Mission House. I wasn't, but loaned him my key. While at my place he searched, to no avail, the internet to find the restaurant in Ohio where he may have left his billfold.
Chris spoke at our evening service for probably 40 interesting minutes. He had found his billfold and was not scheduled or expected to stay at The Mission House: He was staying with one of our ministerial staff. He and his family were here a year or two ago and stayed at our previous Mission House. Earlier in the day I had called Pete in Maine (he was cross country skiing at the time) and found that the suspected glitch with the CD recording was not a reality. I may yet be a recording star.

HELP WANTED
It appears that in the last general election there were no Republican candidates in 39 districts scattered across 15 states. These positions offer much more than just good pay. Some of these districts are listed below in State, District and general location sequence. Please help find a Republican candidate in these districts.
Alabama 5 Huntsville – One Found?

Florida 2 Tallahassee – One Found?
Florida 3 Jacksonville
Florida 17 North Miami
Florida 19 Boca Raton
Florida 20 Pembroke Pines
Florida 23 Fort Lauderdale – One Found?
In recent ratings, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Considered 32 of the present officeholders (democrats) to be hostile, 6 unfriendly, and 1 lukewarm to taxpayers. The National Taxpayers Union granted a grade of “F” to 36 of this group while 3 of them rose to a “D”.

WHAT IF?
Surely you believe that the liberal dominated news media is very, very selective in what “news” they will print or report. Have you noticed the absence of reporting about the improved situation in Iraq? There are, of course, other examples but Linden will assume that you can think. WHAT IF, you complained to the lackluster “news” provider and, if satisfaction is not obtained you then call those who advertise in that medium? Your message could be something like: “ I am disappointed that you choose to advertise in or on …. Who will not report…. Perhaps this approach would pay dividends in the form of less biased news coverage.
