TERM LIMITS
Although it was not necessarily by the means that Linden would have preferred, the reported death of Representative John Murtha on Monday and the earlier death of Senator Ted Kennedy did accomplish something that Linden has long desired: The reduction in the length of time that Members of Congress will “serve” if they continue to remain in office as long as they wish.

It would probably serve no real purpose for Linden to express his reasons for believing that these two were a blight on the Republic. So, he will not do that. Instead, let him just say that each person running for these offices should express his personal stance in regard to term limits and then be judged by the voters. Since the voters are not always astute and Congress would have to approve any change, it is not likely that we will ever see term limits.

Had nothing scheduled for today so just puttered around the place. Due to the snow expected overnight, the Republican breakfast meeting scheduled for Tuesday was postponed. Watched some Butler basketball and 24. Brian called to inform me of the death of John Murtha and Julie emailed to tell me of a picture posted of Jade.

GOOD WORKS
Thanks to those who purchased books or a CD or donated to the effort, we were able in 2009 to provide, through IDES, two goats, a water buffalo, and a fishing boat with net to needy families in third world countries.

In 2010 we will diversify our good works. Recipients are:
