DESPONDENCY
It may be because the outside weather is dingy, gloomy, cold, and almost rainy that Linden is not in his usual sunny mood. Of course, I suppose it could be just a reflection of the damage done by brain-dead voters in the last election. No good news emanates from those in power in Washington, D.C.

Links presented today reflect some of this dour mood. Saying “no” to Obamacare, although a very good thought, can not address the willingness of Pelosi et al to ignore the Constitution in making every effort, legal or not, to pass this monstrosity.

Looking at the viability of Social Security brings terrifying thoughts to those of Linden’s age and we should add that media coverage of the Tea Party movement could use some journalistic professionalism. Luckily, the music link presents a lilting melody.

LINDEN'S LIFE
I’ve not yet adjusted to the time change…from my standpoint, part of “good old days” remembrance is leaving clocks alone! Today the day was split between wasting time (no wonder my next book is progressing so slowly) and running a few errands.
In the evening I went with six other guys to Franklin Memorial Christian Church for dinner and a program. Arrived back home just in time to watch 24, my favorite TV program.

Since Wednesday is the day reserved for Bible study and it is also St. Patrick’s Day this year, I will probably present links to some Irish music on Thursday.

GOOD WORKS
Thanks to those who purchased books or a CD or donated to the effort, we were able in 2009 to provide, through IDES, two goats, a water buffalo, and a fishing boat with net to needy families in third world countries.

In 2010 we will diversify this area of our good works. New recipients are:

January, TCM, Austria, ministry scholarship. http://www.tcmi.org/
February, local need, not part of original plan.
February, Hillsdale College. www.hillsdale.edu

The Book Nook, 33 E. Main, Mooresville is a local source of Linden’s books and CD.

Feel free to make others aware of this blog and our efforts.
