LINCOLN DAY DINNER
It is a common practice for every county in Indiana to have a yearly Lincoln Day Dinner where current Republican matters are presented and emphasis is placed on our great Republican President. Sunday, May 2, was the date for the event in Hendricks County.

It was well attended, probably over 300 people, and a great assortment of candidates running in the May 4 primary were on hand. The food and fellowship were great with the opportunity to visit with a large number of people that one does not see all that often.

Becky Skillman, our impressive State Lieutenant Governor was the speaker and Linden sincerely hopes she will be our next Governor.
Before the event started, some of us had the opportunity to have our picture taken with Becky and to share a few thoughts…she remembered me from our meeting almost two years ago. Perhaps there will be a way to share the picture with you.

The event closed with the presentation of the Gentry Award, which denotes the male and female Republican of the year. About 15 or so years ago Linden was the recipient of that award. This was a good event.

LINDEN'S LIFE
On Friday, Sandi came by and cleaned my place a bit while I was at Men’s Prayer Breakfast and I joined friends at Kingsway Church for the same type of meeting of Saturday.

Sunday brought church services and Sunday school in the morning. Julie and Jade came by for a few hours afterward…Julie had been in Indianapolis for a few days for a business convention. We took Jade to a nice park where she performed many trips down the slides and we spent some time swinging her. It was fun! She had her second birthday on Saturday. We picked up some food and went back to my place to continue our visit. Great time!! As is mentioned above, went to the Lincoln Day Dinner in the evening.
