UNITY BREAKFAST
Now that the primary election is over and November’s candidates have been selected, our Hendricks County Republican Chairman, Mike O’Brien, hosted a Unity Breakfast this past Saturday. Great idea! And, a very good breakfast at Prestwick Country Club.
In addition to Mike, speakers were: Dan Coats, our Senatorial candidate, Todd Rokita, our 4th District House candidate, Brian Bosma, Indiana House Republican Leader, Jim Baird, of Putnam County who is running for an Indiana House seat, and Bob Heaton, of Vigo County who is also running for an Indiana House seat.
Also in attendance were some that were merely interested and a number of successful and unsuccessful candidates who ran in the primary election. The words spoken were met with appreciation and it was a successful event.
Mike promised that those of us in Hendricks County will attempt to help Jim Baird and Bob Heaton in their important races. The winning party in November will draw the District boundaries which will be in effect for the next ten years. It is important that these two, and other Republicans, are elected. In spite of winning the popular vote by a large margin, the Republicans, thanks to the other party drawing the Districts, were in the minority in the Indiana House. The State suffered because of this.

LINDEN'S LIFE
Friday was the day for our Men’s Prayer Breakfast at church and Saturday brought the Unity Meeting as mentioned above.
Sunday started with church and Sunday school services followed by brunch with friends. As I was leaving church, I talked for just a minute to Ron and our Minister, Steve. They returned from a session at Haus Edelweiss in Austria the night before. My friends, Kevin and Dimi, sent a box of wonderful chocolate to me by Steve.
I decided against going to the college graduation of Long Phan, the son of my friend, Thuc, but did meet with those two, sister and daughter, Dr. Jennifer, and Bob and Pati, friends from work days, at a Greek restaurant in Indianapolis. Had a very nice time…it is always good to see old friends. It was starting to get dark when I arrived back home. Good weekend!
