A piece entitled “Spiritually Bankrupt” appeared on the editorial page of The Indianapolis Star on July 10. It was written by Jonathan Thomas who I believe to be a black man. He beautifully wrote what I would like to have the skill to bring you today.

Reading in the July 12 paper of that renowned racist, Al Sharpton, joining a gaggle of local black “reverends” in denouncing the police department treatment of a person who was at least coming close to resisting arrest strengthened my regard for the writing of Mr. Thomas.

In his writing, Mr. Thomas outlined prevalent problems in the black community, the failure of these black “leaders” and his thought that Sharpton is a disgrace. Linden will continue to practice and perhaps some day he will write something comparable.

LINDEN'S LIFE
Slept in just a little but still walked while it was yet cool. Went to the post office, credit union, a couple of stores, by the church, and back home. Did a couple loads of wash and little else of consequence. Did write a little and napped a bit.
