COMMENTARY: 39%: HOW CAN IT BE?

The article linked below claims to report the results of a President Obama’s job approval poll. Unless his job is defined as playing golf and/or conducting political fund raising efforts this poll can be correct only if one of three possible situations exist: (1.) the educational system has almost completely ruined the ability of American citizens to think; (2.) the percentage of mental health impairment among the citizenry is more prevalent than reported; and/or (3.) the poll was wildly inaccurate.

Friday started with a very good breakfast followed by an equally good review of Galatians at the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, I went to three stores and the post office and corresponded with Alison regarding cooking.

On Saturday Sam joined me for breakfast at the Legion, good food. Jim and Dottie joined us. Back home Sam gave me a “Yooper” (upper peninsula) tee shirt and a recent copy of The Bloomington Pantagraph. I was a carrier for that paper when I lived in Farmer City, IL 72 years ago. We then discussed my extensive plans for the next year.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. I watched the Brickyard 400 in the afternoon and some boxing in the evening. The stove shorted out while I was cooking…don’t know if it is fixable and I fell once but only suffered minor pain.
