COMMENTARY: THE WAR ON THE CHURCH:

You do not need to be very bright to realize that our country has gone backward in many areas in recent years: our country as we knew it is in real trouble in many areas if it is not already lost. One, and only one of many, areas suffering is the condition of the church after years of spiritual warfare against liberalism. The article linked below draws a better picture of the situation than I can.

Friday started with the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast. Other than picking up my mail I was unproductive the rest of the day
Saturday I awakened at 1:30 to the sound of a problem with the water heater: I couldn't figure out how to shut off the water and electricity to it so called Kent who was, luckily, awake. He came over and quickly found what I couldn't. Needless to say, the remainder of the night was restless. Kent called a plumber early and they both came by later. Looks like it may be fixed Monday.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Was not totally inactive the rest of the day. Heard from Sheri: she had been stung by a wasp and the picture of the sting on her foot looked painful.
