EFFECT OF THE TEA PARTIES:
The widespread expression of dissatisfaction with the direction our leaders are taking our country was nicely expressed with numerous “Tea Parties” in a large number of locations. The potential effect on the next election has made some in Washington very nervous.

By a vote of 90 to 6, the Senate rejected the Obama plan to bring the Guantanamo terrorists into the U.S.. The six, all democrats, siding with Obama were Dick Durbin of Illinois, Tom Harkin of Iowa, Patrick Leahy of Vermont, Carl Levin of Michigan and Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, both of Rhode Island. Supporting their future opponents is recommended.

President Obama, I suppose read a speech attempting to outline his superior grasp on achieving whatever it is that he wishes for our country. Former Vice President Cheney speech, I suppose, outlined some of the shortcomings of the President’s thinking.

On one short radio blurb, there was mention of the possibility that VP Biden could be removed from office because of his inability to synchronize his mouth with lucid thought.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Following our Thursday morning breakfast meeting, Chuck and I helped Bill get his car to a repair shop. It had failed the previous night after the program at church.
I had a few messages from Sharon. I had not heard from her for a longer period than usual and was beginning to worry. She is ok, just busy. A link to her blog (sherbitter) is now included in LINKS.
Chris Irwin, the missionary we help to fund in Spain will be staying in the Mission House the next couple of nights.
