MICHAEL STEELE RNC:
Linden does not remember being overly impressed with any of the candidates who were interested in being Chairman of the RNC and this would include Michael Steele who was ultimately selected.
Linden wanted someone who was hard charging and not afraid to say things that might not find favor with the main stream media. He thought there were no candidates who met his criteria.

Linden heard a few words on the Laura Ingraham radio show that he was really impressed with, found the speech recorded in an article carried by Investors Business Daily and here is part of it:

“We've seen strategists writing memos and doing briefings urging that Republicans avoid confronting the President. Steer clear of any frontal assaults on his Administration, they warn.
They suggest that instead we should go after Nancy Pelosi, whom nobody likes.
Or Harry Reid, whom nobody knows.
Or this Tim Geithner fellow, whom nobody believes.
Or maybe even Barney Frank, whom nobody understands.”
