NEW 8-7. Link to my Bless A Stranger project #20:

To date 17 of the projects I have backed were successfully funded and 2 failed to meet their goal and received no funding. Unfortunately one of the unfunded efforts was my own “Ireland Is Calling” effort. The plan to go in September continues: my thanks to friends who have supported my hope.

COMMENTARY: JUDGING THE DEBATES
Although possibly very few under the age of 30 remember Margaret Thatcher, Linden will again say that Carly Fiorina may well be America’s Margaret Thatcher. Linden was joined by the majority of the pundits in rating Carly the clear winner of the first of the August 6 Republican debates. Of the 7 candidates, Linden placed Rick Perry in second place and Bobby Jindal third. All seven were rated as superior to the current White House occupant.
The second debate was more difficult to judge: Linden rated Cruz the winner with Walker, Carson, and Kasich also having impressive moments. Donald Trump was a major disappointment…his threat to consider a third party run if he is unsuccessful in securing the Republican nomination was a statement that he considered himself MUCH more important than the well being of the country.

MOSTLY ABOUT ME       lswift8@aol.com
Thursday started with me meeting with the guys for breakfast: six of us were present. It was too rainy for me to continue with my planned focus on exercise. The evening was devoted to watching the debates. The hymn linked below for your weekend pleasure is a good one.

SONG OF THE DAY: All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name:

REMEMBER

The democrats brought you Obamacare.
Obama, Reid, and Pelosi lead the forces of evil.
Hate crime laws should be overturned.
Baseline budgeting is a taxpayer insult.
Carly answers questions: Hillary does not.
SCOTUS: undeserving of respect.
