COMMENTARY: RATING PRESIDENTS, #3 & #11 :
There have been 13 Presidents that I remember as having held office in my lifetime. If things go as planned the next six weekends, starting 9-16-16, I will present my thoughts and evaluation of this group. Today I rate President Ford as number 3 and President Clinton as number 11.

Gerald Ford became the President for a relatively short period following the Nixon Watergate affair. I was first very favorably impressed with him when, some years ago, I read of his frequent use of the veto pen. Other favorable items include his pardon of President Nixon, his support for education of the handicapped and the equal rights amendment. His pardon of Nixon also generated some unfavorable comment.
Perhaps due to the pressure exerted by Newt Gingrich and the Republican Congress there was some attention paid to budgeting and there was a rare surplus in some of the Clinton years. On the negative side, he brought disgrace upon his term in office by his sexual exploits and his departure from the truth. He caused prison overcrowding with no real crime solutions, brought excessive wall street deregulation which brought about the global financial crisis some years later, bad trade agreements resulted in job loss, supported NAFTA, used the Lincoln Bedroom as a fundraiser, and perhaps one of his worst blunders was nominating Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the Supreme Court.

Ratings to date:
#3 President Ford
#4 President George W. Bush
#5 President Truman
#6 President H. W. Bush
#7 President Nixon
#8 President Kennedy
#9 President Roosevelt
#10 President Carter
#11 President Clinton

MOSTLY ABOUT ME lswift8@aol.com
Thursday started with the usual breakfast with the guys at 8:00 then went to the monthly Golden Glows luncheon at 11:30. Mark Proctor led the devotions this was followed by a great pitch-in meal and then Judy Gunning was great as Queen Esther in her dramatic presentation. While there I received a very nice compliment on on of my books.

REMEMBER NEW 9-5-16

The democrats brought you Obamacare.
Obama, Clinton, Reid, and Pelosi lead the forces of evil.
Hate crime laws should be overturned.
Baseline budgeting is a taxpayer insult.
Hillary Clinton's actions risked our national security.
Your life is affected by politics every day.
Only you can think for you: do it and vote.

SCOTUS: undeserving of respect.
Your political party is not more important than your country!
