PERSONS VS CITIZENS

Linden was reminded Monday that he had failed to attend a recent legislative breakfast. At that Breakfast, one of the State Representatives referred to a shortcoming in the Indiana constitution. It seems that when counting the population for the purpose of redistricting, the requirement is to count the number of persons instead of the number of citizens. Apparently this is true of the U.S. constitution, as well.

This one word shortcoming in these two documents has the effect of allowing illegals, usually concentrated in metropolitan areas, to have an undesirable effect on the census and thereby the representation. This needs to be changed! But, for political reasons, it would be difficult to do so.

GLOBAL WARMING
Of the 85 U.S. cities, on Tuesday 51 were predicted to have a temperature that dropped below freezing. Of these, 29 were predicted to not warm up to freezing or above. Plainfield (not one of the 85 cities) had heavy snow. Linden only ventured outside one time.

Each sold book will result in a half dollar donation to International Disaster emergency Services www.ides.org and an additional half dollar will be donated if the sale originates in a state or an Indiana county from which no sale has been previously made this year. The goal is to donate sufficient funds to buy two goats this year for the less fortunate. Hope this approach works.
