STOCK MARKET ANALYSIS

The DJIA turned in a nice performance on April 2 and the other stock market measurements were well into the plus side too.

Although Linden pays little attention to the reported “news,” he did hear two or three reasons given for this positive performance by those who are paid to say such things. Luckily, none of them had anything to do with the appearance of the President’s wife.

Nowhere did Linden hear what he believes to be the real reason for this positive performance. He believes the reason to be the unveiling of the Republican budget plan. Investors, thinking that one would have to be severely mentally impaired to prefer the democrat plan to the one the Republicans presented, saw this as a small glimmer of hope for the return of sanity. They should not forget that the democrats (who control Congress and the Presidency) are not often rational.
