AUTO INDUSTRY JOB LOSSES:
Linden mentioned media job losses in his posting one week ago. Today, we will look at many more such losses in the auto industry. There were thousands of individuals who were adversely affected by the losses in this industry but perhaps the most telling loss was to what has been the primary belief in our country in the capitalist system.

When “the government” can dictate ownership and funding while nullifying valid contracts and the matter is not brought before The Supreme Court, something horrific has happened to our foundational beliefs.

Of course it is sad that so much individual pain has resulted from this economic crash and the concern for their future wellbeing is justified. One should not lose sight of the fact that much of our current economic despair is directly traceable to the crash caused by those housing loans that were encouraged by the democrats. Especially Chris Dodd and Barney Frank.

One must wonder if those laid off auto workers who voted for Obama or who failed to vote at all have now traced some of their current problems to their own poor judgment.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Went to the TCM offices in Indianapolis—as I was leaving, Carol gave me two Long’s donuts—surely the best donuts in the world. I enjoyed them with coffee after I returned home. For some unknown reason, surely not age related, I was very tired today—napped a lot!
