THREATS AGAINST THE PRESIDENT:
On Tuesday, a page two article in The Indianapolis Star reported that the Secret Service was investigating a Facebook poll which asked if President Obama should be killed and presented four possible answers. Quotes by a SS spokesman were, “We are aware of it, we will take the appropriate investigative steps” and “We take these things seriously.”

Shortly before reading this article, Linden had stumbled upon a blog posting which addressed the lack of reporting and lack of action when threats were made against President Bush. Linden, having no memory of any reporting attributes it to the lackadaisical media and to the possibility that governmental bureaucracy has a tendency to differentiate it’s service based upon the political leaning of those involved.

TUESDAY ACTIVITY: Since I didn’t get my car back from the repair shop until late afternoon, activity was pretty well confined to minor efforts at home. The repair cost was almost a budget wrecker.
