LEAVE EARLY, STAY LATE
Linden believes that our Congress is scheduled to adjourn later today and not return to “work” until around the 10th of September.
In appreciation for their efforts so far in 2010, he would like to suggest that they adjourn early and stay, maybe through December.

Consider the benefits to the taxpayer if they had adopted this suggestion January 1 and continued it through December 31: for starters, the taxpayers would have been billions of dollars better off, a gaggle of laws would have never been enacted and Kagan would not have been confirmed to “serve” on the Supreme Court. Any benefits of Congress meeting this year are not apparent to Linden.

LINDEN'S LIFE
After Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00, I tracked down what I think is all of my VCR tapes and kinda sorted them out. Later, talked to Joyce about a poetry project.

Had another men’s prayer breakfast at Kingsway church at 7:30 and for lunch, went to Thuc’s to take him to a Greek restaurant near where he lives to celebrate his birthday. Went back to his place for a while, saw pictures of his daughter, Jennifer, and his youngest son, Long, and watched an impressive video of his older son, Chris. Chris was born in Viet Nam and the two younger ones in the U.S. It was a very nice visit.

Sunday, at church, Justin White preached a great sermon on Zephaniah. His Dad, Steve, is the best ever and Justin is becoming a close second. John Lee had a very well prepared lesson on Numbers at Sunday school. In the evening, the youth ministry presented two reports. The younger ones had a great experience at a camp for the handicapped and the older ones gave a great report on their trip to Cambodia. What a great group of young Christians is being developed!
