MATTHEW 14:1 - 14:36

John the Baptist had spoken against Herod because of his relationship with his sister-in-law, Herodias. The daughter of Herodias danced at the birthday party for Herod and he granted her a wish. Because of her mother, she asked for the head of John the Baptist on a platter…her wish was granted.
When Jesus heard of this, he wanted to be alone but a large crowd followed him…he spoke to the crowd and healed the sick. He caused five loaves of bread and two fish to feed the crowd of over five thousand men plus women and children.
Following this, Jesus had the disciples start by boat across the lake while he stayed alone and prayed. Later, he walked on the water to the boat. Peter got out of the boat to walk with him but his faith failed him and he started to sink. Jesus helped him into the boat. On the other side, they were met by a crowd and Jesus healed the sick.

LINDEN’S LIFE
Tuesday I dropped off my recyclables, went to the post office and back by church. Had a very pleasant pizza lunch with Laura…she told me that it was too late for an opponent to file against Kent in the fall election so I guess our win in the primary made this a successful political year.
