LEADING
WITH COURAGE
This
is the title of the presentation Fred Rodkey made to the gathering of Christian
men this past Saturday. So, this represents a slight deviation from the usual
strictly political nature of this blog. Fred was speaking of the often
lackadaisical attitude of many men in regard to what is the most important
thing in their life: there relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Linden was
struck with the similarity of Fred’s thoughts with those Linden has in the
realm of politics: live a purposeful life: maintain a gracious spirit; be
honest and truthful; allow faith to define who you are; face the consequences
of your decisions; and, seek Godly wisdom.

ABOUT ME lswift8@aol.com
Sunday,
August 5, 2012 is the date of the 7th annual Plainfield Christian
Church free (donations will be accepted to benefit the bands) bluegrass music and
southern gospel concert. Music will start shortly before 3:00 p.m. and end at
5:00. Featured bands are: that of 10-year-old Kyle Ramey, The Gospel Servants
quartet, and The Birch Creek Bluegrass Band.
My
weekend was mostly routine hiding from the heat. Friday brought the Men’s
Prayer Breakfast and, later, Jack came by twice to try to get my DVD player to
work. Paul took me to Chapel Rock Christian on Saturday morning for a very good
breakfast meeting. On Sunday I left church early to meet with Larry Pearson, a
friend from long ago State Police days, before he flew back to Louisiana…it was
great to visit with him for a couple of hours.
