Linden spent a few moments on Wednesday verifying the tip that the NAACP was involved in registering inmates of prisons in Maine and Vermont to vote. They are the only two states to allow felons to vote.

Linden, having been in more than a few prisons, believes that the majority, but certainly not all, of the inmates are less well educated and less mentally equipped than the average of those not in prison. Considering the mental equipment of those not in prison, this is scary indeed.

Also considering the number of “public servants” in the current administration who are guilty of criminal offenses, perhaps this is just an early insurance that some of them will be able to vote when the wheels of justice slowly grinds out their sentences.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Went to the post office and credit union. Lynn and David came over from Pier 14 and loaded my old TV into my car—I took it to Goodwill. Had a good meal and program at church in the evening.
