GOD BLESS AMERICA:
Perhaps Linden should have named this posting “GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER ALLIES”. As he reviews his military service of almost sixty years ago and the service of those who served before and after his own service, he is humbled by the willing sacrifice of a great many extraordinary men and women.
Linden is particularly pleased with those who served with us under different flags and then, later, became one of us after the conclusion of wartime activities in their original country. They bring to our shores a knowledge of what a truly superior country we have and a heightened dread of seeing our country weakened in any manner.
It is in this vein that Linden brings you a few lines from an announcement by Young Vietnamese American Professionals. They will be honoring those who served today, tomorrow and Sunday. Linden’s friend, Thuc, will be attending as will his son, Chris.
“YVAPS will organize an honoring event for Vietnam Veterans – the Veterans of Freedom and memorial service for 58,800 fallen U.S. Soldiers, 230,000 Army Of Republic Of Vietnam soldiers, and millions of Vietnamese civilians.”
“The event recognizes the bravery and sacrifices of those who fought in the United States Armed Forces and helped the Republic of Vietnam to be free for 21 years from 1954-1975. The Vietnamese Americans community wishes to honor Vietnam Veterans and former ARVN soldiers with the acknowledgement and gratitude for the men who fought valiantly.”

Out of consideration for those mentioned above, Linden will dispense with including the five additional content areas which are included in a normal posting.
