VETERANS DAY
The day had its good points and, in general, left Linden feeling much more positive than he had been the previous day. Not more positive about our Washington leadership—maybe just more accepting of their shortcomings.
The day brought Linden several words of appreciation for his service to our country and the words themselves were appreciated. The words came through personal contact, phone calls and emails.
He will now share two of those email messages and a word or two about each one. The first, from Katia, was short but uplifting. She has seen firsthand the problems associated with the wrong form of government. Here are her words:
“Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you for what you have done and what you are doing for this Great Country! God bless you and all your comrades!”
The second came from our democrat Indiana Senator—he always becomes more conservative as the election nears but is not ever among the very worst of the democrat Senators. We will see how strongly he opposes the healthcare and cap and trade monstrosities. Here are his words:
"Today, we pay tribute to the valor of those who have honored our state, crossed an ocean, left their families behind and answered the call to serve. And we pay our solemn respects to the 118 Hoosiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan and Iraq.As we honor the fallen and start to bring our heroes home, it’s imperative that Congress invest the resources needed to address the terrible strains that have been placed on our service members, our veterans and our military families. As an elected official representing Indiana, I am particularly concerned that members of the Indiana National Guard who were exposed to deadly chemicals on the outskirts of Basrah, Iraq, receive the medical care they deserve—a case I recently made before the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. (View testimony here.)To understand Indiana’s heritage is to know there are no words sufficient to express how proud we are to live in the midst of so many real-life heroes. None except these: Thank you."

Linden also received a note from Cheryl saying that Sarah Palin will appear on the Oprah show this coming Monday. He will break down and watch it.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Had a very pleasant session with my second grade Study Buddy. This was followed with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A and a visit at the book store that sells my books and CD. She is closing in about a week and I will have to try and find another outlet—I have really enjoyed our association. Had a good dinner and evening program at church.
