INDIANA BUDGET MANAGEMENT

Even though it has been hot enough the last couple of days to slow Linden to the point that he has not worked hard at developing a story line for today's posting, actually, Linden has trouble working hard regardless of the temperature and still believes that the world is in the first stages of a global cooling cycle. Luckily the news surfaced that the State of Indiana has just reported a solid budget surplus and that is the subject of this short posting.
Perhaps Mitch Daniels should be a Presidential candidate, we surely need a leader in Washington that has a basic understanding of the advantage to taxpayers of not spending more than you take in.
With all of our surrouding States spending beyond their means (thereby joining most of the rest of the nation,) it is a comforting feeling to know that we have a conservative leading the State of Indiana. The voters would be absolutely nuts to replace him in the election this November. On several occasions voters has displayed their ability to make such poor decisions.

LINDEN'S LIFE
On Wednesday, Linden had an enjoyable luncheon with a friend (it would probably be difficult to have an enjoyable luncheon with an enemy,) submitted entries to two contests, worked on some poetry for my next book and did little else.
Thursday, had the usual breakfast meeting with friends and the rest of the day was pretty much a replay of Wednesday.
