SECOND JULY WEEKEND
Friday we had the usual early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast at Church. The cooks didn't fix Linden's favorite (biscuits and gravy) but what they did prepare was pretty good. During the day, Linden did a little (very little) work in the yard and in the evening he spoke at a writers group meeting in Mooresville. That was an enjoyable experience.
It rained like crazy a couple of times on Saturday so all thought of doing any outside work was out of the question. Linden's Vietnamese friend called early in the morning to say that he is going to work for a different governmental agency. They made a good hire. He and Linden worked in the same general area at the last job Linden had.
Sunday brought Church and Sunday school. Linden wasn't feeling well so he didn't join the brunch bunch. At home, he nodded off while reading the paper and felt better when he awakened. He had told Kent while he was at Church that the goldfish pond pump wasn't working: He had tried to start it to no avail yesterday. Kent immediately depressed the reset button and it started: Linden felt dumb - he is so inept. He had pushed what he thought was the reset switch yesterday but his tired old eyes did him in once again. We had a great church service in a shady grove of trees on our North property in the evening. The service was followed with watermelon. A good day after the nap.
