MEDICARE/HEALTHCARE:
The Medicare Trustees predicted in 2008 that the Fund would not become insolvent for another ten years. They have now, just one year later, adjusted the insolvency date to be just seven and one half years from now. It is enough to make one wonder about the accuracy of predictions. Linden believes that regardless of the insolvency date, we, the citizens, are in dire circumstances.

While we are digesting this piece of not very good news that the government is in the process of providing us with another failed program, the President and his inept, mostly democrat, followers are planning to foist another disaster off on a mostly unsuspecting taxpaying public. This would not be so bad if it took the same amount of time to undo a mistake such as this but that is not the case. Even if we should elect a group of mostly rational beings in 2010, it would be next to impossible to fix this planned error in ten years. We, the taxpayers, are locked in a management nut house and the inmates have the keys. GOD HELP US!

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Mostly puttered around today but did take Tyler and David to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. Tyler was here at the church as an intern last year and this year is on staff. David is an intern this year. It was an enjoyable lunch. John dropped by my place to tell me that they would be putting more stone on the driveway soon: it needs it. Particularly when it rains.
I intended to mention two things earlier: I voted my shares of Emmis to not retain Susan Bayh as a Director—I’ve lost more than enough on that investment already. And, Cheryl, after reading my snake related comments, sent me a message saying that I could tell whether the snake is poisonous or not by looking in it’s eyes: the pupil is round if it is non-poisonous and is elliptical if it is poisonous. If I got close enough to make that kind of an inspection, it could bite my nose off.
