A TEACHABLE MOMENT:
The incident in Cambridge was the subject of an Associated Press article by Nancy Benac which appeared in the Saturday issue of the Indianapolis Star. It indicated that the Harvard employee and our President are backpedaling on their initial stance. There has been mention of the possibility that tapes exist of conversations which took place. Linden certainly hopes that they not only exist but that they are adequately covered by reporters.

Since “a teachable moment” was within the article mentioned above, Linden will use this writing for just that purpose. (1.) There is no disputing the fact that an officer was dispatched to investigate a possible break-in. (2.) It is common knowledge that such a situation may result in personal danger for the officer so involved. (3.) Until identification is accepted by the officer, there remains doubt in his mind about all aspects of the situation. (4.) A person of even average intelligence will understand and agree with these possible constraints on their reaction. (5.) In keeping with item (4.) this is the wrong time to become loud and boisterous. (6.) In keeping with items (4.) and (5.) it appears that both the Harvard employee and our President have great difficulty mentally processing a situation of this type.

In Linden’s opinion, both the Harvard employee and the President have disgraced those who selected them for the position each hold.

LINDEN'S LIFE:
Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, as I walked to check on the mail that is delivered here, I saw one of our members had run atop two large stones in the parking lot area and her vehicle was stuck atop them. I certainly hope it is not badly damaged but I’m afraid it may be.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school services followed by brunch with friends. Evening services in the grove of trees on the North property were good and were followed by a great number of desserts. Linden sampled several and brought some home as well.
