LUGAR AND MOURDOCK
The Wednesday night debate between these two Senatorial candidates was, Linden thought, well done and interesting. Following is the interpretation of my largely difficult to read notes plus maybe a personal interjection or so.
ETHANOL: Lugar seems to favor increased usage…Mourdock not so much. Linden thinks that it is partially responsible for increased food prices.
JOBS: Mourdock favored eliminating agencies, reducing workforce and curbing regulations.
NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION: Lugar said he was continuing to work on it. Mourdock said some of the money we send Russia is going to Syria.
MILITARY ABROAD: Mourdock said leaving Iraq was poorly managed while Lugar said we need to use intelligence more skillfully. Linden certainly agrees with Mourdock and, of course, skillfully using intelligence makes sense.
RUSSIA, FRIEND OR FOE? Lugar said neither while Mourdock said due to their support of Iran and others, more of a foe.
ENTITLEMENT REFORM: Lugar said something must be done. Mourdock suggested block grants to States. We three agreed on abolishing Obamacare.
This only shows some of the subject matter. Linden was most favorably impressed with Mourdock.

MOSTLY ABOUT ME       lswift8@aol.com
Thursday started with breakfast with the guys. For the first time in a while, all five of us were present. At 11:30 was the April Golden Glows pitch-in luncheon…at least 150 present. As usual, the food was very good and Gary Varvel, Editorial Cartoonist for The Indianapolis Star, was outstanding as the speaker. Intermixed Christian thought with items from his work career. He and his son are planning a film venture for June. With a full stomach, I was fairly inactive the rest of the day.
