It would not be surprising if some Al Sharpton types found the linked below Ann Coulter piece to be racist. They would be wrong but that is nothing new. What she calls attention to is the adverse effect that affirmative action programs have had on the law enforcement community. In that regard, it joins the “education” community.

COMMENTARY: THREE IMPRESSIVE YOUNG WOMEN

It is remotely possible that Linden is easily influenced but he sincerely believes that his eldest granddaughter is way better than average and he expects her to prove it by the way she leads her life. She started her first year in college Wednesday. I met Karin Agness at a presentation she made in Indianapolis some months ago and I continue to think that she is very special. I have never met Katie Pavlich but have been favorably impressed with her thought processes since first becoming aware of her. The links below validate my thinking in regard to Karin and Katie.

On Wednesday I dropped off some stuff at an assisted living center, picked up my mail, and then was busy at home. Had dinner and attended a study at church. Back home, Jade had left me a message but the background noise was so bad I could hardly understand her…did hear, “I love you Granddad.” I guess that is all I really wanted to hear. My most recent Bless A Stranger Kickstarter project is drawing to a close: with a week to go Regina DiPerno needs $230 to have the amount pledged she will need to get any money at all. I think she will succeed.

Friday, as usual, brought early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, I had a nice phone visit with Brian and went to the post office and UPS store. Dan and Diana came by: he did some work on my door knobs and they started preparing my Ireland poster for display.

Saturday started with breakfast at the Legion then I went to two stores and the post office and talked to Brian again. Later, I watched three horse races: if I had been betting, I would have lost three times.

On Sunday I attended church and Sunday school: this was the end of our eight month long review of the Bible from cover to cover. Had a message from Julie: Jade starts first grade tomorrow.

Who knows what will capture our interest in our declining years? For Linden, crowdfunding is a matter of fairly recent low cost interest.

Project #5 involves a young poet who needs to raise living expenses for a writing holiday. I became aware of this project less than a week ago and it looked doubtful that she would reach her goal: now it looks more possible. COMMENTARY: LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS

The title of this posting is a repeat of words often presented during WWII, they are still true today. Some things should not be spoken of except in the most tightly controlled circumstances. Shortly after the most recent beheading of a journalist by the Islamic terrorists some of those within the administration started talking about a previous failed rescue mission. These blabbermouths should be severely disciplined and those in the media who have covered the story should be chastised by whoever has employment control over them. National security should not be treated as if it is a chip on a gambling table. The person who composed the article linked below should never have been aware of the subject mission.

COMMENTARY: SERVING THE TAXPAYER?

Linden has not compiled a list of those governmental agencies that border upon being an insult to the American taxpayer but the EPA, as is addressed in the Michelle Malkin link below, is certainly one that could be listed. Linden is a bit uncertain as to whether the Senate, under the dictatorship of Harry Reid, qualifies as an agency. A report was recently noted that the Senate had failed to act on over 300 bills that had been passed by the House. For those who are uninformed, the Senate is controlled by the democrats and the House comes close to being controlled by the Republicans. Read the linked article below to expand your knowledge.

Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I went to the post office, the credit union, and by the church to pick up a few vegetables. I exchanged E-mails with Alison and in the evening Julie and Jade came by for a very welcome visit…we had a great dinner at a Mexican restaurant and I brought enough home to have dinner tomorrow.

Saturday started with the men’s group meeting at Kingsway Christian Then on to a store and the post office. Julie and Jade came by in the afternoon for another long and pleasant visit. Julie’s mother sent me a very nice picture of Brian and Julie which was taken at Alison’s graduation party.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance in the morning then Julie and Jade came by for a bit in the afternoon as they were starting their trip back home. I really enjoyed their visits.

COMMENTARY: CROWDFUNDING FOR LOW COST FUN

As a departure from my usual current events focus, today I introduce you to something I occasionally do to take my mind off of this screwed up world: attempting (modestly) to help a person I know not at all to reach a goal. Wednesday I placed a small amount on my charge card to try to help Regina DiPerna. My charge will not be processed if she does not reach her stated financial goal. She has less than three weeks to reach her $2,000.00 goal. Contributions can be made in amounts of $1.00 or more. It is fun to see how the endeavor progresses and I’m hopeful for her. At 7:00 was at the GOP Chairman’s Breakfast: Connie Lawson, our Indiana Secretary of State was the speaker and did a good job. After breakfast I dropped off my recyclable, picked up my post office mail, and went by the church library. Back home, I called the VA about a little problem and got a quick response. I had dinner at the Avon Legion Post then went to a meeting regarding Wendy, who serves as a missionary in Tanzania.

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later I picked up my mail, went to two banks , the credit union, two stores and a gas station.

Saturday I attended the monthly writers group meeting, went to two stores and picked up my mail at the post office.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance and a church picnic in the late afternoon: I ate well. Near closing time it rained hard and I got soaked.

Linden has absolutely no idea how many times he has heard references to the inaccuracies involved with short term weather forecasting. So, most of us are probably in agreement that short term weather forecasting is an inexact “science”. If it is difficult to be exact on a short term basis, imagine how much more difficult long term future forecasting may be. The link below supplies examples of laughable long term forecasting. Friday, as usual, brought early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, I had a nice phone visit with Brian and went to the post office and UPS store. Dan and Diana came by: he did some work on my door knobs and they started preparing my Ireland poster for display.

Saturday started with breakfast at the Legion then I went to two stores and the post office and talked to Brian again. Later, I watched three horse races: if I had been betting, I would have lost three times.

On Sunday I attended church and Sunday school: this was the end of our eight month long review of the Bible from cover to cover. Had a message from Julie: Jade starts first grade tomorrow.
