PRECINCT POLITICS
There is little doubt that politics at the local level is an important cog in the machine that drives larger scale politics. In that vein, Linden is pleased that he was able to serve for over 20 years as a Hendricks County Precinct Committeeman and especially pleased that one year he was recognized as being an outstanding member of those who were involved in County Republican Politics. This involvement was made possible by his strong belief in the very worthwhile merits of Conservative thinking.

Linden finds the other side of the fence to be puzzling indeed. Especially in Hendricks County where there is a long history of allegiance to Conservative belief. Particularly puzzling is that (if Linden counted correctly) there are 93 democrat committeemen in the County. How can that be? Since current democrat belief seems to be that abortion at any stage (even after birth) is permissible, there is no problem with the just passed healthcare, stimulus, and financial bills…not to mention several other atrocities and the really lame approach to illegal immigration, is what is best for you and those you love. Granted, we cannot all think alike but surely there should be limits on willing idiocy. 93 aaaaagh!

LINDEN'S LIFE
Awakened at 5:00 but stayed in bed until I was the last one at our Thursday meeting…I’m usually first. I was teased a bit. Did a load of wash, got a flu shot, and did the necessary running around. Later, Judy Rinear called and I met her and Ron for dinner. Hadn’t seen them in months and was glad they thought of me while they were in the area.

DREGS OF HUMANITY
It is election time so it is only normal that there be charges that the democrats are, once again, trying to cheat their way to victory. So far, reports of this type of criminal activity has been reported in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.

This is rather standard for democrats. Linden has never heard of a Republican being suspected of voter fraud although it has probably happened. He first heard stories of the democrats being so involved in 1960 and has since heard numerous such reports. Unfortunately, sometimes these crooks are successful.

If this election should result in a Republican victory, it is Linden’s hope that Congress will cause each such report to be thoroughly investigated and the stiffest possible penalty be exacted upon those who are found to be guilty.

MARK
This book, believed to have been written in Rome shortly prior to 70 A D, is thought to be a reflection of the words of Peter. It may have been originally intended for the Roman church but was soon disseminated to many of the churches.

Mark focuses on the activities and actions of Jesus Christ…starting at about the time Jesus met with John the Baptist and continuing until after the crucifixion.

After the high winds and heavy rain subsided, I went to the post office, credit union, bank, gas station and back by the church. I’m not sure what happened to the afternoon.

A confession: I recently had to buy a coffeemaker and have been a little disappointed in it not getting the coffee hot enough. Today I discovered a round circle of cardboard sitting on top on the area that keeps the coffee hot! It is possible that my eyes are getting worse.

IS IT THEFT
Our President, when he is not traveling unnecessarily, seems to spend all of his time attending political rallies. Linden is one of those who wonders if he does not have a greater responsibility and concurrently wonders at what point does his lackluster approach to the Presidency constitute theft of salary and perks.

Since Linden is not completely knowledgeable regarding specified responsibilities of the office, he wonders at what point Obama’s obvious unfitness for the office becomes a matter that should be addressed by the impeachment process.

The Indianapolis Star, or other such “purveyors of truth,” by providing their readers with a steady diet of (as considered by Linden) left-leaning columnists such as Sheila Kennedy, Eugene Robinson, Ken Bode, Leonard Pitts, E. J. Dionne, Roland Martin, and Froma Harrop should not expect the opinion of their editorial board to be highly respected.

Particularly disturbing to Linden were the editorial board endorsements of Visclosky, Donnelly, Reid, Carson and Hill in their House races; Osili in a statewide race; Crawford in an Indiana House race; and all the candidates for Marion County offices except for Mark Massa. It is probable that there are others which just weren’t inspected closely enough by Linden.

Linden’s endorsement: Vote against any candidate for any office who may have been inclined to support Obama!

LINDEN'S LIFE
Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast followed by lunch at the home of Doug and Jane…Bob and Gayle were up from Tennessee so, it was a small gathering of friends. I talked to Julie for quite a while…she and her family have been sickly.

On Saturday, I read, messed with the computer, listened to and/or watched football games, and Madonna called for a nice visit. She has some health issues. She, just before moving to Arizona, was such a help to me as I was preparing to move and was not feeling well at all.

Sunday brought church, Sunday school, brunch with friends, a long nap and paper reading. Then, I attended evening church services. Diana brought me half of a chocolate pie and I had a big piece of it immediately after returning home.

Linden has almost never been an admirer or supporter of the liberal views of Juan Williams. It is indicative of the “politically correct” at the expense of honesty stance of NPR that they gave him the boot for suggesting Muslins wearing their garb sometimes make him nervous. Seems reasonable! Don’t worry excessively about Juan…he has since signed a lucrative contract with FOX.

It is time for Congress to defund NPR and many other absolute wastes of taxpayer money. If they lack the courage to do so, they should cut the NPR subsidy by 50%, as that would represent the Republican half of the wasted tax money.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE AN S MAKES
Today, Linden presents a thumbnail sketch type comparison between Trent Franks, representing the 2nd District in Arizona, and Barney Frank, representing the 4th District in Massachusetts.

Trent is a Baptist and is married with two children.
Barney is Jewish and has had homosexual relationships. Linden believes Barney to be largely responsible for the worldwide financial crisis.

Citizens Against Government Waste and National Taxpayers Union each rate lawmakers based upon their support of Conservative legislation: CAGW uses 100 to 0 while NTU uses A to F.

Trent earns a 98 and an A rating (strong Conservative.)
Barney received a 2 and an F rating (extreme liberal.)

Trent is a Republican, Barney a democrat.

Hopefully only one of these men will be re-elected.

MATTHEW
It is believed that Matthew, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, wrote this gospel primarily for the Jewish audience and that it was written before 70 A D. It often refers to the prophesies of the Old Testament relative to the coming of the Messiah.

The book starts with the genealogy of Jesus, continues through his birth, early years, and his many interactions until it closes with his death and resurrection.

Linden almost never reads anything that is carried in the liberal rag known as The New York Times: on Monday, he read two of their columns.

As you probably remember, the oft used justification for borrowing and spending huge amounts of taxpayer dollars by the mostly rabid Obama supporters was that there were many “shovel ready” projects in need only of some money to generate jobs. Sounds good!

Now, it is being reported that there were actually very few, if any, of these projects in existence. Most disappointing is that a reputed Republican person involved in the reporting business was told in secret a year ago by Obama that there were no such projects. The support by this reputed Republican continued. Responsible reporting is in short supply.

Moving slowly, did a load of wash, made a trip to the post office, and later the heating man came by to check the performance of the furnace. In the evening, several of the men went to a church North of Brownsburg for our monthly youth camp support meeting. Had a good dinner and the program was enjoyable.

BALLOTS, SOCIAL SECURITY, AND TEA
Linden, having read of several democrat controlled entities that were unable or unwilling to provide our service men with ballots so they could vote in the upcoming election, decided to call our very competent Voter Registration area here within Hendricks county: Laura, not surprisingly, said that the responsibility had been handled in September.

Linden, having received several messages attempting to correlate Congressional pay increases with the Social Security decision to not increase payments thought he would share his thoughts in that area with you. There is no correlation! Linden, although he is anything but rich, is very pleased that the Social Security payment he receives will not be increased. Why should our grandchildren be saddled with additional Ponzi scheme debt at this time?

Linden had hoped to attend a Tea Party rally here in Plainfield on Friday night: it was not to be. Barbara, on Sunday, gave me a rally flyer. Love the Indianapolis Tea Party Mission Statement: “To restore limited government, fiscal responsibility, and accountable representation through citizen activism and education. in order to preserve the Constitution of the United States of America.”
--
In his wildest imagination, Linden cannot imagine our President being able to deliver a speech such as the one Sarah Palin delivers in the first link below. Those who question her credibility are slow learners.

In the second link, the reason why blacks should be flocking to the Republican Party is illustrated and the third link presents a song that Linden really wishes he had written. Sad!

LINDEN'S LIFE
Friday brought our usual early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, had lunch with our church intern at Chick-fil-A.
On Saturday, had a breakfast meeting at Kingsway church and then a writers group meeting. Had some benevolence related talks, listened to the Indiana – Arkansas State game and watched a bit of the Notre Dame game.
Church, Sunday school, and brunch with friends occupied Sunday morning. Watched a preview of the movie “I Am” at church in the evening while there I talked to rarely seen old friends Lee and Kathy: years ago I used to occasionally appear on his TV show. A small group of us went for a bite to eat after the movie. I watched the remainder of the Colts game after returning home.

Sales of my most recent book, “Making Meals, Managing Money, and Living Life” have been better than I deserve, considering my lack of effort.

HOPE AND DREAD
As we are now about two and one half weeks away from election day, Linden is so hopeful that the start of governmental change of direction will begin. Surely we will be so blessed.

Coupled with this hope is a feeling approaching dread that many voters who previously made mistakes will continue to do so or, even worse, the election will be stolen by the forces of evil. God forbid!

LINDEN'S LIFE
Some weeks ago, I started bringing you music on Friday from the year that I was born (1930.) This is probably the last time I will include notes from my life in the year referenced in the music.

I was 21 in January of 1951. I think this may have been the year that I quite the sales job I had and tried my hand at being a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman: I failed miserably. In December of that year, my closest friend and I enlisted in the Air Force rather than wait to be drafted into the Army. We were together through basic training then took different paths. At this point, I think you know enough about my early years.

On Thursday, Bill, Chuck, Jack, Paul, and I had our regular highly enjoyable breakfast meeting. At lunch time, the Golden Glows had a pitch in luncheon (I bought some cookies to take) and a very good program which involved the church staff following lunch.

After feeling reasonably well for a few days, I had moments of weakness on Thursday. That is somewhat bothersome.

The Indianapolis Tea Party is having an affair here in Plainfield on Friday evening, I hope I feel like attending.

SUPPORT THE UNDERDOG
Perhaps it is because Linden has played the part of the underdog so many times, or because, in spite of his poor vision, he likes to look at pretty women, or he really doesn’t give a hang about what stupid things a person did or said as a high school student, or, more likely, his absolute disgust with what has happened to his country under the control of Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, and the democrats that he strongly hopes for an O’Donnell win in Delaware. THE OLD TESTAMENT
Linden’s review of the Bible completed the Old Testament portion last week and will start on the New Testament next Wednesday.

The Old Testament reviews about 4,000 years of history and was written by a large number of authors. Naturally, it does not look at every year or even every century. It does solidly lay the foundation for the coming of Jesus Christ. A careful review of the information contained within the two links below will be beneficial to you.

INSULTING OUR MILITARY
It is not hard for current and former military personnel to strongly believe that the democrats, in general, and some specifically should be considered as being anti military. It is somewhat difficult to understand how many of those democrats think…if at all.

There is more than one democrat controlled State that is or has been dragging their feet in regard to providing our currently serving military with absentee ballots. Naturally, our totally inept “Department of Justice” has taken no discernable action to alleviate this slap in the face of all who are serving or have served. A major house cleaning in this department is sorely needed.

LINDEN'S LIFE
Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00…Kent said that Donna will have the same type operation that I had several years ago. Thankfully, Rubye was alive then, I moved to her house and she got me through the difficult ordeal.
Saturday Gail called me from church to say that a delivery had arrived there for me. It was latest book production. Joyce dropped by as she was enroute from Putnam County to her home in Indianapolis: we went to Steak and Shake and had a nice visit. Sam called later to see how I was feeling.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school. Julie and Jade came by shortly after I got home. We went to Beasley Orchard for their pumpkin festival. Walked a lot, including some in the corn maze. Jade at two and a half is sure a walker. We did various things that interested Jade, ate a little and returned to my place. It was fun and I was tired but this was the best I’ve felt in a long time and I really enjoyed it. After they left, I took a short nap and attended evening church services later.

With Congress being (mercifully) on another vacation there is just not a great deal of politically related news that just cried out for Linden to devote his time to addressing. I was 20 years old in 1950 and had married the previous year. Probably in this year I changed from my truck driving job to one of being a traveling salesman of household items and collector on the accounts. Usually did well enough at this job but was not a star.

All five of us were present for our Thursday breakfast meeting…I really enjoy these meetings. In the evening I ate at a Mexican restaurant. It was part of a fundraiser that benefited diabetes. Jim Jennings, whose granddaughter has diabetes, made me aware of this.

CLASSY AND CLASSLESS
Generally speaking, Linden is not a good loser! However, in the political realm, he has absolutely no regrets about sending a small donation to the campaign of Doug Hoffman in New York even though Hoffman withdrew from active campaigning and threw his support to the Republican nominee. In New York, Hoffman was able to have his name on both the Republican and Conservative tickets…he lost the Republican and won as a Conservative. His withdrawal letter was nothing but a class act.

Representing the complete opposite in the class race, we have Lisa Murkowski in Alaska…she lost the Republican race to Joe Miller (also a recipient of Linden’s financial support) and immediately started a campaign as a write-in candidate. Classless and self serving!

As a result of a copyright related complaint concerning this posting on this date, Linden has deleted all links that were originally presented on that date. Linden was unable to determine exactly what generated the complaint. He believes the complaint was without merit.

On Wednesday, Paul took me to see my cardiologist…the heart monitor failed to pinpoint the problem so, I’ll see my Plainfield doctor and hope to truly identify my health problem. Had dinner and attended the program at church in the evening.

MALACHI
This short book brings to a close the writings of the Old Testament. It was written in the approximate time of 400 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The temple and the wall had been rebuilt. Malachi addresses the people, including the priests, not living as they should and closes with mention that the Messiah would come, as would judgment.

TRASH
Perhaps it is because Linden watches almost no televised news (or anything else) and only subscribes to one news paper that he had detected no coverage of the recent meeting of the lefties in Washington D.C. over the weekend. It would have been hard to avoid the coverage if the meeting had been wildly successful.

The best news sources, Rush Limbaugh and the various Internet sites provided good coverage of this subject. Apparently the crowd did not hold a candle to the meeting that Glenn Beck had earlier and the difference in the condition the grounds were left in was absolutely staggering. The pictures of the Beck rally indicated that the conservative crowd left the grounds almost spotless and the pictures of the leavings of the liberal crowd indicated that these people are truly trashy.

LINDEN'S LIFE
Had a quick breakfast on Monday, drove to downtown Plainfield to pick up donuts to take to the Government Center in Danville: the shop was closed so I went to another store, got the donuts and was in Danville in time to be the first voter in the County again. I have no idea how many years I’ve been following this routine. As I drove back to Plainfield, the blinding sun revealed a very dirty windshield. Not very active the rest of the day.

POLLING
Linden recently read or heard that a poll showed that 70% of blacks approve of the job Obama is doing! The same poll reported that 70% of the whites polled disapproved of his performance. This, at first, made no sense to Linden.

What if the blacks being polled judged the Obama performance solely upon his ability to take vacations and that 30% of the whites polled were union members? Never completely trust a poll.

LINDEN'S LIFE
Friday brought the usual Men’s Prayer Breakfast at church at 6:00.
Later, I had lunch with Dan and Diana and performed household type tasks.

Saturday was the breakfast meeting at Kingsway. In the mail today were two Kringles from the Danish bakery in Racine, WI…Katia continues to have a feel for when my sweet tooth is in need. Bless her. Indiana U. lost a heartbreaker to Michigan in a football game I listened to.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance followed by brunch with friends. Watched a little football before going back to church for evening services which was concerned with a recent trip to Kosovo made by one of our mission teams.
