Child Linden

Adult Linden (photo by Jack Burlison)

As a poor old retiree, I believe that love of our country is essential to the well being of all.
I believe that the Republican vision of President Lincoln was practically without fault and I believe that the intent of the Republican Congress of 1994 was derailed by greed.
I believe that Congress is broken and unfixable as presently composed.

To donate to my effort, send cash or check to Lindenwould, Box 203, Plainfield, IN 46168.

Those donating $4.00 or more will be mailed (while supplies last) a copy of my first book. It is not much appreciated by democrats.

PRESIDENTS WHOM I REMEMBER

PRESIDENTS WHOM I REMEMBER
(A total of 100 points are distributed within a group according to desirability)

PRESIDENT - POINTS - LINDEN’S THINKING

1. Reagan (50 points) For a thinking person this rating requires no explanation.

2. Ford (15 points) Vetoed 66 bills within his very short term. Wonderful!

3-9. Nameless (32 points) No need to write about my disappointments.

10. Roosevelt (2 points) His agreement to grant “Uncle Joe” Stalin control of Eastern Europe resulted in untold suffering for millions of innocent people.

11. Johnson (1 point) His “War on Poverty” resulted in effectively wrecking the average black family and creating millions of fatherless children. Strangely, many of the black clergy seem
to think this is just fine.

12. Carter (0 points) His incompetence is only exceeded by his lack of class as a former officeholder.

POSSIBLE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES

NAME - POINTS - LINDEN’S VIEW

1. Fred Thompson (50 points) Did not run for a second term in the senate. Linden likes that.

2. Mitt Romney (12 points) Any person winning as a Republican in Massachusetts bears watching.

3. Newt Gingrich (11 points) Hopefully hasn’t changed too much since 1994.

4. Rudy Giuliani (10) Was a great mayor.

5-12. Nameless (17points) Luckily, it is a long time until decision day.

POSSIBLE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES

NAME - POINTS - LINDEN’S VIEW, OF COURSE

1. Unannounced (83 points) A dark horse leading an extremely weak field.
2-9. Nameless (16points) Lackluster.
10. Dennis Kucinich (1 point) Even less lustrous.

11. Al Gore (0 points) A potential Carter……

HELP WANTED IN THE U.S. CONGRESS

Starting salary about 170k with frequent raises expected, great benefits, working hours, support staff and retirement plan. Frequent travel should be required.

The ideal candidate will know that it is necessary to keep America strong, that waste of taxpayers money should not be tolerated, that baseline budgeting is a disgrace, that the candidate and his family should live in the district represented, and that they should serve in this position no longer than 12 years.

The Secretary of State in your state may have some eligibility restrictions.

If you are concerned about having the start up money, consider forming a group of others who would also be interested in applying, each member agree to place some money in a pool and to support the selected candidate and make a selection by any method from within this group. Utilizing this approach, a local group of bridge players could field a candidate. Consider that some campaigns have been started for less than $1,000.00.

I expect to make a small donation to any Republican who becomes a general election candidate in the districts listed below. Remember, I said I was old and poor.

Shown are state, district, general location and the current Democrat officeholder. This officeholder had no Republican opposition in the last election. If a Republican candidate is selected to run in the next general election, the candidates name and contact information will be added below.
Even in those areas where they are few in number, those who can no longer stomach what the democrat party has become deserve the opportunity to vote for an alternative.

LINDEN'S BOOKS

LINDEN’S BOOKS

Previous pages have been devoted to asking you to think and to providing some avenues which if acted upon could improve our country in several different ways.

On this page are some links to other sites which may be of interest to you and a mention of another matter that is certainly of interest to this writer: book sales.

Some years ago, even before fully retiring, this writer started a small publishing and writing endeavor so he would always have something to do. Unfortunately, tax law requires that a profit be shown in 3 out of every 5 years of operation. Sales are not my strong point. I need your help. My fear is that when I die, my children will be saddled with a large supply of unsold books. Ordering information appears below.

Go to http://www.secondhandstoriesinc.com/ or www.amazon.com/shops/dmgrosvenor

Type the book title and click on go. Order one or more books. Make me smile.
