NEED FOR COMMON DECENCY
There are several areas within the recently reported news where this need is illustrated but, for today Linden will focus on Supreme Court Justice Kagan. The Constitutionality of Obamacare was the focus of the Court for the last three days and the reporting has been primarily directed toward the Justices other than Breyer, Ginsburg, Kagan, and Sotomayor. After all, these four are considered to be solidly and in every regard supporters of whatever our lackluster President wants. In regard to Kagan, since she was a primary architect of preparing the defense of Obamacare when she held another position within the administration, it is beyond unreasonable for her to be considered without bias as a Supreme Court Justice considering this bill. A person in like circumstances who possessed a modicum of common decency would step down from a part in the consideration process. Of course, being a liberal, common decency is not a common trait.

FALLING BIRTH RATES
Linden believes that it was on March 23, while listening to the Rush Limbaugh radio show which was being hosted by Mark Steyn, that he heard an unusual reason for the predominately European problem of falling birth rates: gas prices!
Falling birth rates means that the future will provide fewer and fewer people to pay the cost of previous governmental obligations as well as current expenses. Mark reasoned that gas prices, which in Europe are much higher that they are in the U.S., dictates that the family car becomes increasingly smaller. This, of course. translates to no room for a large family. Sounded reasonable to Linden.

MOSTLY ABOUT ME
I felt better on Tuesday than I did on Monday. Not great by any means, but better. Did little, did pick up my mail and went to a gas station but expended little energy. Received the parts to cause my TV to return to normal operation but my computer still does not have broadband access. Will attempt to install the TV parts in a day or so. Plan on becoming more active tomorrow. Dan and Diana came by for a short visit in the afternoon.

KUDOS TO DENMARK
Perhaps unfairly, Linden is almost without exception highly critical of the U.S. Main Stream Media. This could be because he is, again almost without exception, highly critical of stances, efforts, and results of the various items of focus of our President and our MSM could best described as his water boy. Try to judge fairly: view the video contained in the link below and try to imagine that being produced or shown by our MSM.

MOSTLY ABOUT ME
Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I went to the bank and the post office, corresponded with Julie…she is still sick and reviewed Ronda’s formatting of my next book and, just before the I.U. game was to be shown on TV, a bolt of lightning must have been very close…it knocked out my TV and the broadband access to computer actions. On Saturday I met Sam for breakfast and he came by my place to look at my taxes. I’d be lost without his help. I called Brian to discuss my TV situation. I called very helpful customer service contacts and it is now working good enough. On Sunday I attended church service. When I arrived back home I took a two hour nap and felt fairly rotten the rest of the day. I recommend the links that I present below.

Linden was torn between writing today regarding President Obama’s nonsensical trip (taxpayer expense) to Oklahoma to address approval for a previously approved pipeline or write regarding some other subject. Obviously, he chose some other subject…mostly because of his admiration for Walter E. Williams, the author of the first piece below. MEXICO IS NOW SAFE
Despite warnings to the contrary, surely Mexico must now be safe otherwise the President and his wife would possibly not allow one of their daughters to go there on school break. From the standpoint of that family, it is good that U.S. taxpayers (many somewhat unwillingly) will pay the cost of the flight, the 25 Secret Service operatives, the housing, probable other expenses for her and some of her associates. Speaking only for myself, with tax filing time approaching, I am not thrilled to think that all of my income tax payment will be used as a portion of the total cost of this ill-advised jaunt. Perhaps that whole family has been infect with the “let’s go on vacation” virus. This leads to a “screw the taxpayer” attitude!

OBAMA IS HALF RIGHT
You cannot imagine how difficult it is for Linden to even suggest that President Obama has ever been even partially right about anything. This guy has a record of incomparable incompetence. However, if we look at his actions carefully, we find that he has accused Congress of being a “Do Nothing Congress.” You can make a case that half of Congress, the Senate is the epitome of do nothingness. The President only represents the “Do Nothing Good” portion of this general class. You may expand your knowledge by viewing the below link which seems to illustrate that our President, in addition to his other faults, is not always honest.

FUNDING RECREATIONAL ANYTHING
One day last week Linden was working at his desk and paying little attention to the talk radio show which was playing in the background. Then, something did surface which caught his attention: the caller wondered why if there is support for funding items associated with recreational sex, why would not all other forms of recreation be funded? Good question!
Is our government in such a good financial position that those charged with leadership of our country are actively searching for things to spend taxpayer or borrowed funds? Is it time to replace a goodly number of these “public servants”? Until two years ago, Linden would occasionally play golf, that does not seem to call for government funding. If you are a regular reader, you know there is a lot of government spending that Linden does not agree with.

OTHER STUFF:
Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast: Rick brought me some maple syrup which was made at McCloud Nature Park. Julie picked me up at 5:30 in the evening…we had dinner with friends in Lebanon. She was sickly.
Saturday brought the men’s group meeting at Kingsway at 7:30… I left early to attend the program at Plainfield Christian. It was really great! Frank Turek spoke and how much faith it takes to be an atheist. Jill bought me his book Julie, who is still sick, and Jade came by in the evening. I read Cinderella and The Cat In The Hat to Jade. Julie and I watched the first half of the I.U. game…a really great game. I watched the second half alone. I.U. won. Sunday brought church, Steve spoke on Job again, and Sunday school. John finished the study of Ruth. I had a nice phone visit with Brian and Alison and Julie called to say she was nearing home and was still sick. It was a pretty good weekend for me.

Much has been made lately, Linden thinks too much, regarding real or imagined slurs by prominent people. Maybe we should look at a couple of blacks that Linden has mentioned in the recent past. Linden has only mentioned her once previously. We should know in the next day or two regarding the outcome of her run for Congress in Utah. The links below are worth your time to inspect.

FADING POSITIVE IMAGES
When President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize before he had any record of accomplishment in any area it started Linden’s lack of favorable regard for the Nobel Prizes. This growing unfavorable opinion was supported by the words of Dr. Steven Chu, our Secretary of Energy and also a Nobel Prize winner. Apparently referring to his 2008 words, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels of Europe.” These words brought him his present position. “I no longer share that view” is his present position, if we can believe his words.
Due to the words and actions of several of those who claim Harvard and Columbia as their colleges of choice, it is apparent to Linden that the stock in The University of Idaho (see Sarah Palin) should be on the rise.

VOTING AND LEADING
It is easy to understand why the democrats are opposed to requiring voters to produce identification before being allowed to vote. However, if you don’t understand, watch the link to the first video below and perhaps you will understand how easy it is in some states for the dead to vote. Each vote that is cast in a fraudulent manner is a direct insult to honest voters.
In regard to the second link, although Linden is in general agreement, he does have difficulty with the effort to paint both parties as being equally at fault with the lack of Congressional progress. The House is controlled by Republicans…they have passed numerous bill that could be beneficial. The Senate, controlled by democrats, refuses to pass a budget and refuses to consider most actions taken by the House. The Senate is a disgrace. The House is not.

IS OUR DEBT CRISIS PUZZLING?
If your answer to this question is yes, please do not consider joining a think tank. If Linden is thinking correctly, it would require 1,000 taxpayers, each paying $10,000.00 in federal taxes to provide a total of ten million dollars. That, according to the link below, is the amount of prize money that the Department of Energy awarded to a company for designing a light bulb that will cost consumers $50.00 each. An attitude that would allow an agency to spend that kind of money for an item that is not worth a penny is exactly why our debt crisis exists. Congress, at the least, should reduce the funding of the Department of Energy by ten million dollars and should require those responsible to attend classes on rational budgeting.

BASED ON TRUTH?
One need not be very astute to question much of what passes for reporting of the news as it is offered in vast quantities. Further, it seems that the MSM is not much interested in in-depth coverage of subjects that may be considered to be potentially politically incorrect.
The link presented below is offered as an example of an article that Linden believes should be validated or repudiated by the MSM. In it, the focus is on racist type actions taken by teachers and students in the Kansas City school system. If true, and we may fear that it is, the educational system is in even worse condition that what is reported.

SLOW BUT VERY WELCOME PROGRESS:
The contests between the four Republicans attempting to win the right to represent the Party in November may well have been uninspiring to this point. But, think how much less inspiring it would be to have a candidate who was elected four years ago with no record of accomplishment. It, for the democrats, is even worse now…that candidate has a record of incompetence that is unequaled in the history of our country.
The major election related progress that has been made to this point in 2012 is that Barney Frank decided not to run for reelection in Massachusetts and Dennis Kucinich lost in his primary reelection effort in Ohio. Life is good, Spring is coming and more good things are to come. Hallelujah!!!

OTHER STUFF:
Wednesday morning brought breakfast at Chick-fil-A followed by stops at two stores, the credit union and the post office. In the evening, Wes and Suzie picked me up and we went to the Hendricks County Lincoln Day Dinner…Governor Daniels was the speaker and a great speaker he is! I saw many people that I no longer see as often as I once did…it was great. Richard Mourdock, who is running to replace Richard Lugar in the Indiana race for the senate, talked to me for a bit as I was entering the food line. He mentioned when we first met. Impressive candidate! The food was great too.

DO I WANT A NEW CAR?
I don’t know…I guess it would be okay but my 13 year old Toyota Camry is just fine and will probably outlive me. But, I’ve been thinking about trying to help the struggling auto industry…although I’m certainly doing enough of that with the taxes I pay and the money my government gives the industry. If I should go the new car route, I’ve about decided on a Chevrolet Volt…they certainly need buyers worse than most other makes and models. I checked the price of a car like my Toyota ($4,850) and decided that I would, somewhat unwillingly, pay half that much for a new Volt. Making decisions is hard for me.

NATURAL DISASTERS:
Seeking adequate safe shelter is about the only thing we can do to protect ourselves and our loved ones when an event such as the tornado that struck primarily Indiana and Kentucky over the weekend. The damage to various towns and homes plus the loss of life and the injuries suffered are just too great to adequately describe. About all we can do is offer help where we can and pray for comfort, support, and healing for those afflicted.
