One of the small problems of not being independently wealthy is that it restricts the ability to provide even a small amount of support to those you consider to be worthy. Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 then Jack picked me up a little after 9:00 and we went to the State Police Retiree’s Luncheon at the Post on 21^st street. I’m really favorably impressed with Superintendent Carter…I had never talked to him before. While there Jack and I were interviewed for a spot they may put on You Tube.

On Saturday Sam came out and we had breakfast at the Avon Legion. Later, I watched Indiana U. have a disappointing football loss.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance then watched most of the Colts football win then went for a visit and dinner at Doug and Jane’s. They invited a small crowd to visit with old friends, Gayle and Bob.

Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast so I napped a bit during the day. I did go to two stores and the post office. Dan and Diana came by: he put some gravel in the drop-off from the new blacktop. I contacted a genealogical society in Virginia as I try to find the hometown of James W. Trotter who came to Virginia from Ireland about 275 years ago. Attended a very good Sunday School Class party in the evening.

I attended the men’s meeting at Kingsway church at 7:30 Saturday morning. Then corresponded with Brian. Later, I watched some boxing and I.U. winning in football over Missouri. Great game!

Sunday brought church and Sunday School class attendance. Had brunch with friends and watched the Colts win a football game in the afternoon.

It seems to Linden that our judicial system increasingly provides us with irrational decisions. This is a direct result of the liberal influence on society. It is also part of the reason you should not fail to throw as many liberals as possible out of the Senate (and all other offices) in the upcoming elections. COMMENTARY: REASONABLE DEMOCRATS?

Those in that party seem to spend a considerable amount of time whining about their mistreatment or lack of cooperation from those in the party of the good. Linden is one of those that believes the Republican leadership does not focus a sufficient amount of attention on the dishonesty of the democrats and their stooges in the main stream media. Although I slept well on Sunday night I still needed a morning nap before starting my Monday activities. In my post office mail I received a check from Energizer for a refund on a flashlight: I will be buying another Energizer product. Shirley Friedman called and said she intends to knit me a scarf and asked what colors I prefer. Really nice! I talked to Brian…it was a good morning. I had about three hours in the afternoon to work on projects but it started raining with thunder and lightning so I turned off the computer and accomplished little. In the evening I joined a small group and went to a CDCMF meeting at Greenwood Christian Church. Back home, I watched the Colts lose a game.

COMMENTARY: INVESTING IN HIGHER EDUCATION?

Successful investors usually carefully study their investments focusing on the risk-benefits area. Linden may be a bit severe but he thinks that many of those who charge high prices per credit hour are doing a disservice to their supporters and alumni by offering trash instead of worthwhile courses. In the same vein, some professors should be in a completely different line of work. The two links below seem to buttress Linden’s thinking.

Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast and, since they were black-topping in front of place, I worked inside all day.

Saturday: the new blacktop looks good to me. I went to a store and the post office, corresponded with Brian and watched Indiana U. lose a close game.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance. In the afternoon I watched three horse races and if I had been betting would have won one of them.

Thursday was a great day for eating: had a good breakfast with the guys…7 of us present. This was followed by the monthly Golden Glows meeting and pitch-in…great food and program. COMMENTARY: PANNING THE STATE DEPARTMENT

It is possible that Linden is slightly biased (not necessarily bad) for he has long felt that Hillary Clinton was the all time incompetence champion as our Secretary of State…then John Kerry came along and Linden was proven wrong. Although the video that is part of the article linked below seems to be not a lot more graphic than many newscasts, the article finds much fault with the words accompanying the video.
