Yesterday this blog questioned you regarding the desirability of retaining the Dept. of Education: with 24 hours to consider the question Linden decided that, as valid as that question was, maybe the Dept. of Justice should have been the first considered for the trash pile. Wednesday again found me going out for breakfast and I celebrated sleeping well overnight. Dan came by and hung the large Honor Flight picture for me then Ryan came by and transferred my old cell phone info to the new one: he accomplished in a fairly short time what would have taken me hours. I continue to be blessed. Diana and Jessica came by later but I didn't call on them to do anything. Again, the song linked below is really sad but I love it.

COMMENTARY: WHY VOTE FOR TRUMP?:
Linden readily admits that Donald Trump was not his first choice to be the Republican Presidential nominee. But, it could be worse. What if you had to justify voting for Hillary Clinton? It would seem that such justification would be impossible. The article linked below does an excellent job of explaining just why it is important that you vote for Trump. If you are having trouble justifying such a vote, you need to read the article.

After another night of not sleeping well, Tuesday became a pretty good day. I went out for breakfast, dropped off my recyclables, picked up my mail and worked some in the storage shed. Later, Dan and Tory moved it to the burn pile. Later, had a nice visit with Dan and Diana and also had an excellent phone visit with Julie. I also corresponded with Alison. If the article linked below is even close to accurate one has to wonder if Hillary should lose the election what should happen to those in the contributing organizations who authorized the spending of such large sums. There should be some means of penalizing the offenders. This article makes Linden want to vomit.

COMMENTARY: SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA:
The article linked below makes the case that it is time for conservatives to more actively oppose many of the liberal stances taken by corporations. A good example is the recent widespread boycott of Target stores. The article says it well.

Friday started with the Men's Prayer Breakfast and that was followed by trips to two stores, a bank, and the post office. Corresponded with Brian and others.
Saturday had Lloyd coming by to take me to the Kingsway breakfast. Later, I did three loads of wash. Josh and I had lunch at Chick-fil-A.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance. Later I drove to Danville to attend a choral group production.

COMMENTARY: WHY NO DEMOCRATS?:
When Linden first read the article linked below his first thought was, “why so few Republicans?” This thought was quickly followed by, “why no democrats at all?” He knew the answer: they are very good at follow the leader. That, I believe, is why there has been no media outcry as Indiana's Senator Donnelly and Representatives Visclosky and Carson seemed to support the President's attack on the moral fiber of our country. Do those who vote for these disgraces agree with them or do they also play follow the leader?

Thursday started with breakfast with the guys followed by trips to a store, the post offrice and by the church. Later, I went by the car repair shop and went to Walgreens and had my Indy Honor Flight poster framed plus got copies of the picture showing Julie pushing my wheelchair into the PHS gym at the conclusion of our return flight. Pretty busy day considering that I wasn't feeling top flight.

COMMENTARY: EXPECTING TOO MUCH?:
We should always strive to be fair and in regards to our President we should ask a question of ourselves before passing judgment. Examples: should a President always support the constitution over personal bias?; should a President make a habit of apologizing for our legitimate beliefs and actions?; should a President weaken our military?; should a President appoint only those who hold our constitution in high regard?; and, lastly, should a President be able to tell the difference between a man and a woman? If you answer the above questions correctly, you will probably appreciate the article linked below.

As mentioned as a possibility in yesterday's post, today we will consider the character of the Clinton Clan. You will have to do some of the thinking. First, Bill. What were the circumstances surrounding his impeachment? Next, Hillary. Is she rated as trustworthy? Is she rated as being honest? Is she a national security risk? Did she come clean about Benghazi? Tuesday I went out for breakfast then went to the credit union and made my first of two trips to the post office. At 11:15 Kent picked me up and we went to the Chamber of Commerce luncheon...good food and enjoyable time. My second trip to the post office provided me with a proof copy of my latest writing effort. This helped to insure that I would have a busy day.

COMMENTARY: ANOTHER FAILURE OF CONGRESS?:
Linden listened to a bit of the Rush Limbaugh radio show on Monday: Mark Steyn was the very capable guest host. He mentioned a ninety thousand dollar bonus for a TSA employee and the general sleaze associated with the Clinton Foundation. Since most government salaries are vastly superior to those available in the public sector, Linden wondered why Congress has not put a stop to all bonus plans. The article linked below addresses the bonus situation and Linden will probably cover the sleaze matter later.

Friday began with the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast. Later, I took a nap, picked up mail, talked to Brian, and got some of the paperwork caught up.
Saturday I went to the writers group meeting: it was cold outside so I stayed home after I returned from the meeting.
Sunday I attended church and Sunday School. It was still cold out so I stayed inside most of the rest of the day. Kent brought me some cookies and sweets that Donna sent.

COMMENTARY: PROVIDING GUIDANCE:
Linden hastens to admit that his experience in guiding corporate affairs is restricted to a not entirely wildly successful effort with a very small corporation. This does not mean that any advice he would give is flawed. Today's dose: corporate leaders should restrict their efforts to developing the financial success of the corporation they lead. Friday started with the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast followed by a long nap, picking up my mail, doing some writing stuff and just generally staying busy.
Saturday brought the always good men's meeting at Chapel Rock CC. Sam came out in the early afternoon and we went to an absolutely great grand opening of the Avon American Legion Post and had some really good food while there. Later, watched the Kentucky Derby: if I had been betting I would have netted $18.60 from an exacta bet. Josh abd Megan came by for a short visit.
Sunday started with church and Sunday School attendance then back home where Julie and Jade dropped by for a short visit: they were here for mother's day.

Now that the major focus on the primary elections is essentially over, maybe it is time to take a look at how government has been “working” while our attention was diverted. Wednesday found me busy at home until afternoon: several phone calls including one from Brenda, the Division Secretary where I was employed about 20 years ago. She is a good friend. Brian also called. In the late afternoon I got the repaired car back and celebrated by having dinner at Chick-fil-A. The repair bill went on the charge card and the dinner was free so I am still rich.
