COMMENTARY: COST OF NOT KNOWING #4:
This commentary series began August 26 and will continue for a few days. It reports on the legislative analysis performed by Citizens Against Government Waste regarding 2015 actions taken by Congress. There are both good and self serving persons in each of the two major parties. This analysis shows the decided difference between these parties by rating the results of the analysis of 100 House actions. The best rating is 100 and the worst is zero and the classifications are Taxpayer Super Hero, Taxpayer Hero, Friendly, Lukewarm, Unfriendly, and Hostile.
Based upon these 100 votes CAGW rated 181 democrat Representatives as being Hostile to taxpayers and six more were assigned the status of Unfriendly. The top score among these democrats was 39. Each of we Taxpayers should consider just what kind of analysis we perform as we are selecting a party to vote for. Few things are more important to your daily life than choosing correctly.

Tuesday began with breakfast at Chick-fil-A then Steve brought me a sample of their ice cream which was really good. Then I went to the VA to pick up my new glasses: think they are going to help my failing vision. Back home, Teresa came over from the Mission House bringing me some really tasty cookies and a wash cloth that she had knitted. We had a good visit and she was still here when Dan and Diana came by. Dan hung a couple of decorations on my walls. I corresponded with Brian and Julie and had several phone calls on a variety of subjects. Also received a good update from Alison as she is starting her third year of college.

COMMENTARY: COST OF NOT KNOWING #3:
This commentary series began August 26 and will continue for a few days. Monday started with a visit to Chick-fil-A then at 9;30 had coffee and a great cupcake and visit with a friend in Avon. Later, I picked up my mail and was mostly busy at home. Dan and Diana came by for a visit in the afternoon and in the early evening I went to the Avon Library to wish Jennifer McCormick well in her race to be Indiana's Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Friday started with the Men's Prayer Breakfast and did some writing.
Saturday Sam came and we had a great breakfastr at the American Legion Post. My nephew David was there so we visited a bit. Shirley sent a couple of jars of pickles she had canned with Sam.
Sunday was church and Sunday school attendance followed by brunch with friends.

COMMENTARY: COST OF NOT KNOWING #1:
The purpose of this writing and those that may follow it for the next few days is to attempt to cause you readers to know the importance of politics in your daily life. Linden has been a supporter of Citizens Against Government Waste practically since it's inception in 1989 and has some confidence in their presentations. From their Spring Waste Watch: “Since 1989, The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) has examined roll call votes to identify those members of Congress who defend taxpayer interests and those who are betraying the taxpayers' trust. …..” In this issue Linden was not surprised at all to see that Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly was rated as HOSTILE to taxpayers. Memory tells me that The Indianapolis Star endorsed him for the position he now holds. As yesterday's commentary noted, “Believe Nothing.”

it seems that we should take anything he hear or read with a gran of salt. Certainly a great many of the items that originate with the government are later revised and much of what the media presents, although seldom revised, is quite often more nor less than political propaganda. Reported unemployment figures are just a bad joke.

Tuesday started with me going out for breakfast, saw Bob And Barbara Ward: he is going on the next Honor Flight. Then dropped off my recyclables and pickied up my mail. Monday started with breakfast at Chick-fil-A followed by trips to the credit union, a bank and the post office. Corresponded with Brian. In the evening I attended a “meet and greet the candidates” affair at Hummel Park. Saw several people I rarely see anymore and realized how much I miss my once heavy involvement in Republican politics. Rick Barr led the meeting and Randy Price, John Crane, and Todd Rokita did well at the podium.

As is true of many of us who are terrified for the future of our country if Hillary ends up winning the Presidency, I have been puzzled by the lack of attention to important items by the Trump campaign. Friday brought the early morning Men's Prayer Breakfast . Later I had a nice phone conversation with Brian, had a visitor and had some correspondence.
Saturday started with the men's breakfast at Kingsway and then went to a grocery and the post office. Talked to my nephew, Bruce, who is fighting cancer.
Sunday began with church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Later, I stayed reasonably busy (except for a nap.)

COMMENTARY: WHAT TO BELIEVE?:
If you, like Linden, refuse to watch the network “news” and realize that much of what you read and hear is being fed to you with a decidedly liberal spin, then you are stuck with the task of trying to sort it all out. Ask yourself questions such as: are healthcare prices and options better than they were 8 years ago?; is America any longer respected around the world? Is National Security being adequately guarded?; is the future secure for those you love?; is our military as strong as it was?; is Christianity under attack?; are you concerned about the size of the national debt?; are racial relations better than they were 8 years ago?; and other questions of this type. America is counting on you to answer these questions correctly and vote accordingly.

CHRISTIANS BE VERY AFRAID

In the years of the Obama presidency those of the Christian faith have, in the opinion of this writer, been granted few favors indeed. The looming presidency of Hillary Clinton promises even greater oppression. On Wednesday the day started with me turning off the alarm clock and sleeping in until 9:00. Then, went out for breakfast and had several good conversations and worked a puzzle while at Chick-fil-A. Then, picked up my post office mail and was busy at home until evening: I then attended a study at church.

Tuesday Lloyd picked me and Paul up and we went to the GOP Chairman's Breakfast: had good food and Todd Young was a very impressive speaker. I surely hope he will be our next Senator. Later I joined a friend at Goody's for a cinnamon roll, coffee, and conversation. From there I went to two stores and returned home and did two loads of wash. Somewhere in there I picked up my post office mail. In the evening the Haskins family who are now staying in the Mission House joined me for dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Friday started with Men's Prayer Breakfast and little of significance followed that: did correspond with Brian.
Saturday brought breakfast at the Plainfield Masonic Lodge then picked up my mail and went on to the writers group meeting at the Avon Library. Back home, I listened to Madame Butterfly on RTE and did a few small tasks.
Sunday started with church and Sunday School attendance. At 2:00 I went to a very large Honor Flight related meeting. It was great and it brought back vivid memories of the trip to D.C. that Julie and I took in April. That was one of the high points of my life.
