Ice was thick on my windshield before I headed to breakfast with the guys Thursday morning. Linden is not quite ready to greet winter with a smile. After eating and visiting I picked up my post office mail and then was home for the rest of the day. My favorite event of the day was a long telephone visit with Julie. My least favorite was doing a little bit of cleaning.

COMMENTARY: SCUMBAGS

If Linden’s quick computation is correct, the video in the below link shows a coarse comment oftener than once every six minutes as this lady walked thru the streets of Manhatten. It illustrates the general coarsening of society that is evident in many places. Let us hope that it has not yet reached Indiana.

Wednesday started with breakfast at Cick-fil-A. As is often the case, I worked the Sudoku puzzule in the newspaper they have there. Today it was difficult and took two cups of coffee to finish it. Then, I picked up my post office mail and went by the license branch to order new plates. Had nice E-mail notes from Alison. The evening brought dinner and a study at church.

On Friday the Men’s Prayer Breakfast was canceled as a result of the Children’s Wing construction project so I met some friends later at Panera Bread.

Saturday came out and we had breakfast at the Avon Legion Post. Dan and Diana came by for coffee and a visit in the afternoon.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Watched the Colts lose a game later.

COMMENTARY: IS THERE ANY VOTER FRAUD??

Although those who are opposed to voter id laws and many in the media say that voter fraud involves an insignificant number of cases, the actual number of instances is larger than reported. These opponents are actually favoring the dilution of the meaning of the honest votes cast. They should be identified as criminals. The two links below bring to light cases in different states.

COMMENTARY: THANK YOU AFRICA

Over the weekend Linden was made aware of, possibly a bumper sticker, that simply said, “AIDS, EBOLA, OBAMA…THANKS AFRICA.” There is little doubt that aids and ebola raise real health concerns. There are some that think that Obama’s name should not have appeared in the message in spite of him being , in the opinion of Linden and others, a real disaster for America. Thought you should be aware of the message.

Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast with a TCM graduate who is from Tunisia being the very impressive speaker. He was also the speaker at the TCM banquet that Ron took me to in the evening. It was great! Saw Jeanne who used to work with me and Joyce who was with the Greenwood contingent when we went to TCM in Austria. Great to see them.

Saturday started with the men’s meeting at Kingsway CC and after that I met a friend for cinnamon rolls, coffee, and conversation. Talked to Brian and watched I.U. lose a football game.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by a tour of our very impressive new children’s wing. Watched the Colts win a game. This day was the birthday of the most wonderful daughter in the world.

COMMENTARY: EBOLA: SCARIER THAN CANCER

Some forms of cancer are curable, others are treatable. It is still a word that causes chills to run up your spine. So far there seems to be no known successful treatment for ebola and it looks like death is pretty certain for those who are infected. Thursday was one of those rare occasions when I missed breakfast with the guys: I would have preferred to be with them. I was at the VA Hospital for a 9:30 appointment…some very nice doctors addressed my reason for being there: they cut out a cyst from my right ear lobe and removed an ugly looking thingy (I forget what they called it) from my upper chest. It was nice to get back home. The ear hurt some the chest not so much. Not much else to report…I did talk to Brian for a bit. Regarding my current Bless A Stranger interest (mentioned above) it is about ¼ of the way to being funded with two weeks to go. I hope they are successful.

Recently a friend loaned me a copy of “America” written by Dinesh D’Souza. I find little time to read but I did read a chapter a day of it and was very favorably impressed. I hope to read the two books mentioned in the link below. I’m not familiar with the work of Jason Mattera but, since he has managed to irritate some rich democrat political types, he can’t be all bad. I have mentioned Daniel Hannon before in previous blogs and I think he makes more sense than many of those we are exposed to.

On Friday I was at Men’s Prayer Breakfast before daylight. Later, did a load of wash, some housekeeping tasks and picked up my mail.

Saturday Started with trips to two stores then attended the writers group meeting. Later, I watched Indiana U. lose a football game and then to Craney’s for their 40^th anniversary open house.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Back home, I watched a little football, did some paperwork and paid just a bit of attention to my projects.

COMMENTARY: A PET PEEVE

Yesterday I received another of those political pollsthat asked the question, “how would you rate congress?” Do not these people realize that Congress is comprised of two parts? There is the democrat Senate which is controlled by the Obama stooge, Harry Reid and there is the House in which Republicans have the edge. The poll suggested that 10 = excellent, 5 = average, and 1 = failure. Although they wanted one figure, I wrote in Senate 1 and House 9: maybe they will get the message. Probably not. As a side note, our President was awarded a 1.

Black voters have supported democrat candidates at over the 90% level for years and Linden is not smart enough to know how to make that percentage a more reasonable amount.
