Linden has not made a personal in depth study regarding the difficulty involved with signing up for Obamacare or the limitations involved with choosing your doctor or hospital or even the cost of this ridiculous means of robbing Americans of freedom. However, he has read extensively regarding the subject and has no problem advising a vote against all those clowns who voted for it or supported it in any regard. Friday brought the usual early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast followed by a long nap and a trip to the post office and a store. In the evening, had dinner at a Mexican restaurant and watched some televised sports.

Started Saturday with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A and then went to the post office. Watched more basketball on TV.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance, it was the 185^th anniversary of the founding of Plainfield Christian Church. Watched more basketball and boxing.

Thursday started with breakfast with Chuck…the other four members of our group were missing. This was followed immediately with a trip with about 50 other oldsters to a great tour of the Indiana State Police Museum and then on to a great meal at The Garrison, the former Officers Club at Fort Harrison. It was such a good day that I made no further attempt to accomplish anything.

Mitt Romney is being quoted much more frequently than was once the case. Linden visualizes him being asked to again run for the Presidency and him saying, “no thanks, such a large percentage of the voters are so incurably stupid that I do not wish my good name to be further sullied by them.” Then, thought was given to mentioning Obama making another change in his law regarding healthcare…can’t help but wonder if those who said this would not happen knew they were telling a whopper. After returning home and opening my mail I descended into a black mood that I may never completely recover from. It started, “Dear Linden Swift, You’ve been identified as an influential professional Business woman.” It was crushing…80+ years of believing that I am a man just thrown on the trash heap. BE VERY AFRAID

This piece was written as a warning to the residents of Ukraine, Poland, those in the Baltic area, and, to a lesser degree, Americans. Although the comedic line “we strongly condemn” was issued from the White House, the actions of those thought to be world leaders are not similar in nature. While the Russian leader is engaged in mopping up operations in Crimea and issuing vague threats, the American “leader” is busily filling out his NCAA selection information. Meanwhile, our “news” providers are telling us in great and continuous detail that there is not a whit of accurate information in regard to the missing Malaysian plane. MY RACE CAR

Yeah, I know, in my previous mentions of My Race Car I have referred to it as The Peoples Race Car But, I’ve decided to adopt it as my own. Tuesday brought a photo shoot, conducted by Lucas Carter for The American Legion Magazine, of My Race Car. Initial info is expected to appear in http://www.legion.org/ Thursday, March 20 and a full story is expected to appear in the Legion Magazine’s May issue. The photo shoot took place at Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing on Main Street in Speedway. Travis Tetrault and Jason Godby, who started this sponsorship effort and still refer to the car as The People’s Race Car. Karin Miner, who served in the Army in the late seventies, and I, an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, observed the photo shoot. I am hopeful that Lucas will send me a picture of my signature on My Race Car: it appears in this sequence on the right side just behind the driver’s seat “CUTTERS.RT FOLLOW LINDEN SWIFT. Looked good to me. Come to think of it, “The People’s Race Car” may have appeared on that line too.

Monday was a busy day: started with trips to a card shop, the post office, and a gas station ($3.49.) Then took the Pier 14 intern, Alex, to lunch at a pizza place. It was enjoyable. In the evening, six of us from Plainfield Christian went to a CDCMF meeting at Franklin Memorial CC: had a great meal and a very interesting talk by V.L. Vawter.

Wendy Wagoner was the speaker and gave a good description of her ministry in Tanzania. Becky Cadwell led off with a much appreciated talk regarding her life and how it brought her to Plainfield Christian Church. I got home just in time to watch the last few minutes of the I.U. basketball loss in the Big Ten tournament.

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

The Florida election, which is addressed in the article linked below, had a happy enough outcome but raises some troubling questions. Both of the electable candidates received over 80,000 votes. Considering the damage that the democrats have done and are doing to our country, what could a voter possibly be thinking about to cast a vote for one of them. The thinking of Libertarians is more closely aligned with that of Republicans than it is with the other major party. In Indiana in 2012 a conservative Republican lost to a democrat who is little different than President Obama. Had the votes of the Libertarians been instead cast for the Republican, we would have one more worthwhile Senator now. If one knows that a member of one of the two major parties is going to win the election, why would one elect the worst candidate by casting their vote for a person who cannot possibly win? Perhaps many voters think not at all!

Tuesday brought the monthly Republican Chairman’s breakfast and all three of the Republican candidates for Hendricks County Sheriff spoke: it was well done. Later, I dropped off recyclables, went to the post office, the credit union, and two stores. In the evening, had a good meal at the Avon American Legion post.

POLITICAL PROBLEMS

The political problem for America has been the acceptance by the low information voters of the democrat party. The problem for the establishment Republicans is, since many of them can happily live with the democrats, the Tea Party. The problems for the Tea (taxed enough already) Party is the li voter acceptance of the democrats and several of the establishment Republicans. Most of the strong beliefs of the Tea Party members are rooted in doing what is good for America…the difficulty in attempting to root out the weak kneed establishment members is in determining how far to allow them to stray from worthwhile beliefs. Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast then went to the post office, by the church, bank, credit union, gas station, and car repair shop where the entry to my car was fixed.

On Saturday I had a writers group meeting, went to the post office, did a load of wash and watched Butler win and I.U. lose basketball games.

Sunday brought church, Sunday School, brunch and in the evening to hear a concert of Mark Proctor’s songs from his new CD. The musicians were good and it was enjoyable.

FEBRUARY CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Both church services, led by Steve White, and Sunday school, led by John Lee, are dong a complete study of the Bible: we are now through Joshua. February 2 Jim Meyer updated the Sunday school class on the Ukraine. The Wednesday night studies focused on Revelations, Thursday breakfast meetings are now attended by only Bill, Chuck and Myself: we take turns giving the prayer and readings. Friday Men’s Breakfast includes a study of Romans, led by Steve White.

Due to the weather, there was no monthly CDCMF meeting and I missed the meeting at Kingsway. At Chapel Rock Fred Rodkey focused on “Christian Warriors”.

I was particularly impressed with the words of Randy Harris of Abilene Christian University, we watched a DVD featuring him on one of our Wednesday night studies. He said that he tells his students, God’s team wins: pick a team: Don’t be stupid.

Sunday was cold and snowy. Attended church and Sunday school. Broke the drivers side door opener. Jade was a little sickly so didn’t join me. Had the computer repaired and watched I.U. win a basketball game.
