Wednesday brought a mid-morning trip to the post office, a gas station and a grocery. Busy at home until time for dinner and the program at church. Dan and Diana dropped by for a few minutes in the afternoon and Brian came over for a visit in the late evening. It is always great to see my kids.

For many years Linden considered himself to be a Republican, was active in the Party, and still has no major problem wearing the Republican label. But, over the years he has grown to be more conservative than many of those who are “leaders” in the Republican Party and is happy with the emergence of the Tea Party movement. Actually, he has progressed (or our country has regressed) to the point where he has great difficulty understanding how any thinking persons can call themselves a democrat. You may already suspect that Linden believes that our President is a Muslim, is not a legitimate President, and is a disgrace to the office. Monday I awakened to the sound of a snow plow clearing the Pier 14 parking area and shortly after, Ray cleared the lane back to my abode with the large snowblower. I am so blest. In the afternoon I went to the post office and on to a store to get a new coffeemaker and, of course, some candy.

Except for the coffeemaker failing and Butler losing their basketball game, it has been a good weekend. I.U. won two games, my taxes are done, the major disasters coming to Americans are still nine months away and both Brian and Julie saw fit to talk basketball and other stuff with their dad. Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Watched I.U. win their first tournament game. Corresponded with Brian and Julie.

Saturday started with Sam and I having breakfast at the Legion then doing my taxes. Watched Butler get eliminated in the tourney.

Sunday started with church and Sunday school attendance followed by a meeting. I.U. won another really close game. Talked to Brian and Julie. It started to snow.

Linden did not like the way the democrats passed the Obamacare bill, does not admire the people most involved with the passage of it, and does not believe that those same people have or had the best interests of those who need healthcare coverage at heart. The article linked below refers to the recently concluded Conservative Political Action Conference as being a “surprising” success: Linden does not find it surprising at all. Surely the nation is becoming increasingly fed up with the liberal actions of our President and the democrat Senate. Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast with John Chestnut speaking the food was good as it was at the Sunday school class party in the evening.

Saturday started with the men’s breakfast at Kingsway. In the afternoon, both I.U. and Butler lost their basketball games. Talked to Brian.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. I dropped by Paul and Judy’s for a few minutes in the afternoon and watched some boxing in the evening.

Thursday started with breakfast with the guys, two of which were absent. Good meeting. Our monthly Golden Glows luncheon started at 11:30 with good food and ended with a presentation given by John and Ruth Chestnut who are serving in Kosovo. I had a nice visit with them afterward. Later, Paul and Judy, being aware of my interest in starting E-book publishing, brought by a Kindle for me to inspect. I listened to most of the Butler win in basketball and, later, had a good phone visit with Julie.

There were many statements made regarding how great Obamacare would be for just about everybody highlighted by Nutcase Nancy saying that the bill would be understood once it was passed. Well, it has been passed and the media, with a great lack of alacrity, is beginning to report on what they have known since before the November election. This sequestration, which only slightly reduced the bureaucrats desired cost of government increase, provides evidence that the title of this piece fits in nicely with the pitiful actions of our inexperienced President. First, consider his approach: stopping White House tours, military tuition assistance, West Point recruiting assistance, reducing desirable expenditures in some of the parks and releasing criminals. It would be accurate to say that he is anything but a Jane Fonda fan, thinking that she fits his description of being a despicable traitor. Apparently she is or was playing the part of Nancy Reagan in a fairly recent film and thereby was displaying the continuing failure of Hollywood to properly cast. Senator Rand Paul’s filibuster made him the hero of the news cycle following it’s close. He was joined by several Republicans and a couple of democrats. This was one of the first evidences of one being willing and able to oppose the current administration and it gives Linden hope that a more open and vocal analysis of the current administration is starting to occur. This question is presented because of words Linden heard on a radio show this past Tuesday: it was said that the U.S. is bankrupt and that no foreign nation is willing to buy our debt and, further, that the Fed is printing 85 billion dollars worth of additional money each month in order to finance our lackadaisical approach to financial management. Of course, if true, this printing further devalues existing dollars. One of the many reasons that our budget does not balance is illustrated in the link below. Linden does not pretend to have all the answers in regard to solving the many problems associated with the financial condition of our country. But, the news that there is a movement to defund Obamacare certainly seems to him to be a money saver with absolutely no downside. What puzzles Linden is that no Indiana House Members are listed as supporting this approach. Since Linden does have a rather high regard for the ability of several of these members, he will remain puzzled for a time. View the link.

Friday brought the early Men’s Prayer Breakfast. In the evening, watched a good movie and some boxing.

Saturday started with a good men’s meeting at Chapel Rock CC, in the afternoon watched the Butler basketball team get thumped and in the evening, Kent took me to Bloomington to watch I.U. win a poorly played game.

Sunday brought church attendance and for a change did not go to Sunday school. Four year old granddaughter, Jade, spent a large part of the afternoon with me. I enjoyed that and I think she did too.

FEBRUARY CHRISTIAN STUDIES
Attendance at Plainfield Christian Church is a continuing blessing for me and all who attend. Sunday services featured Steve White presenting a study of Ephesians and John Lee leading the Sunday school class through I Samuel. Wednesday evening services had David Jefferson finishing his Holy Spirit presentations, Larry Bellville presented a lesson based upon the woman in the crowd, and Nicholas Goldsberry presented From Death To Life. Steve White led our early Friday morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast  in a study of II Peter.

Due to snow and darkness, I missed the meeting at Chapel Rock CC, I did some readings at our men’s meeting at Kingsway CC on the 16^th, and attended the CDCMF meeting at Southport CC on the 18^th.

On Thursday I joined 4 other guys for our regular breakfast meeting then picked up my mail at the post office and went on to Avon Computer Works to have the power supply in my computer replaced. Talked to Brian after I returned home.
