COMMENTARY: AMERICA’S MARGARET THATCHER?

Linden is going out on a limb today and assuming that you are capable of rational thought and that you really care about those who will follow you in this life. For those who don’t know, Margaret Thatcher was the well respected Conservative British Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990. She and President Reagan were close. Today two links are presented that showcase Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. Thursday started with breakfast with the guys, That was followed by trips to the post office and the credit union. Dan, Diana, and Todd came by for a short visit. Then I had the opportunity to remember just how much I dislike using the phone in an attempt to resolve a problem. I also received a call from a lady who said that she was from Windows and wanted to talk about my computer. When I explained that I did not want to talk about my computer but would talk on another subject if she wanted, she hung up. I’ve linked a hymn below just for your weekend listening pleasure.

COMMENTARY: DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD?

As is addressed in the article linked below, the Senate Republicans have introduced a bill to defund this organization. They continue to receive a great deal of adverse publicity over their harvesting and selling portions of the bodies of aborted babies. Hopefully this is only the first of the efforts to defund portions of the federal “budget”.

COMMENTARY: A BASIC MISCONCEPTION

Linden absolutely believes that among our political “leaders” the worst Republican is better for America than the best democrat. This does not mean that he believes that all Republicans there are strong conservatives, as they should be. In the article and video linked below, Senator Hatch strikes one as a person who has “served” too long. He apparently believes that his reason for being there is to not ruffle feathers. He has apparently forgotten, if he ever knew, that his responsibility there is to serve the American people. If one can not tell the difference between the Republican leadership and Harry Reid it is way past time to appear to be rude.

COMMENTARY: TED CRUZ: JULY’S HERO

What many readers do not realize is that the Republicans in Congress do vote as a Conservative a large majority of the time and the democrats vote the liberal ticket almost 100%. What is hard to grasp is the tremendous power that the House and Senate leaders possess and, sadly, they often leave a great deal do be desired. Last week Ted Cruz insured that his remaining days in the Senate under this leadership will be extremely difficult. He performed a marvelous service for the voting public. Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00: I just don’t do well when I get up at 5:00. Napped some, Dan and Diana came by and I responded to a request for info re running for President. Also told him of my book on the subject at Amazon and my announcement video on You Tube.

Saturday Sam drove out and we had breakfast at the Legion Post. Don, Ron, and Mary Ann were already there so we joined their table. After breakfast Sam and I drove by the construction of the new Post: looks good. We picked up my mail on the way home and I stayed reasonably busy the rest of the day. Watched some boxing on TV.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance then home. Was busy. Talked to Brian. The Irish song linked below is both true and sad.

When Obama said that he intended to transform our country Linden had no idea that it could happen so quickly and so completely. Perhaps the second saddest day in the history of the once great country was the day that he was first elected. The saddest day was his second election. Now another move to make immigrants even more unlikely to have real fidelity to our country seems to be underway. Day by day our world becomes a scarier place to live.

COMMENTARY: RUSH LIMBAUGH RUINED MY DAY

To be honest, it wasn’t Rush that ruined it, it was his reporting of what our illustrious Secretary of State said. The way I interpreted what Rush said, and I do believe him to be about the best provider of accurate news, was that John Kerry was surprised and disappointed with what the Iranian leader had said in regard to America. In my opinion, only an idiot or an anti-American could possibly approve of this nuclear deal. The article linked below may provide you with additional understanding.

Busy day! Was notified that I was not selected for the clinical study I wanted to be part of. Went to a very good Plainfield Chamber of Commerce luncheon: the program was good too. Back home, did two loads of wash, corresponded with Julie, Dan, Diana and Jordan dropped by for a short visit, and I had dinner at the Avon Legion Post. The song linked below started as a poem written about 100 years ago then became a popular song. It reminds that relationships can be very difficult for those attempting to serve their country. Not that we really needed reminding of that.

Friday, as usual, started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast had a good meal and the program was good. Cheryl came by for a visit in the afternoon. First time she had been down this way in a while. Had heavy rain again in the evening.

Saturday started with Lloyd picking me up to attend the breakfast at Kingsway. Later, I picked up mail then walked around the church grounds (I have to start getting more exercise.) Watched some boxing in the evening.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. I went to a 6^th District Legion affair at the Avon Legion Post…ate like a pig there. After I got back home Brian called for a nice visit.

COMMENTARY: LEGAL MURDER FOR PROFIT

Although some certainly disagree, Linden finds it impossible to think of killing a smiling, kicking, thumb sucking infant in the womb as being anything other than murder. No portion of taxes should go to support “planned parenthood.” The article linked below expands upon this thought.

Wednesday started with me going out for breakfast then picking up my mail. It was a busy day at home with no major accomplishments. I did pick up some limbs that the most recent storm blew out of the trees. It is almost impossible to believe but we haven’t had rain in over 24 hours. Dan and Diana came by for coffee and conversation in the afternoon. In the evening I went to the Eagles Lodge to help with a Chamber of Commerce project. Tuesday started with Lloyd picking me up for our trip the GOP Chairman’s Breakfast: the food and conversation were good and the update provided by Governor Pence was great. Once again, the storm and loss of power the night before had ruined my sleep so, I had a good nap when I arrived back home. Was reasonably busy until I went to the Avon Legion Post for dinner. Only today did Linden become fully aware of this particular democrat controlled federal government plan to further ruin our country. As a result of this new information (where was our news media?) one reasonable suggestion is that every Chamber of Commerce should immediately wage war against this Department of Housing and Urban Development and, further, Congress should immediately reduce the funding for this bloated division of our government. I failed to mention in yesterday’s posting that I had watched about 45 minutes of a Carly Fiorino campaign event in New Hampshire. She is one talented lady. I would love to see her in a one-on-one event involving her and either Hillary or Obama or both. No endorsement is being made at this early date but I’ll say again she is impressive.

My Monday started with breakfast at Chick-fil-A followed by a trip to the post office, me placing several phone calls and email messages. In the afternoon, I got a haircut. Back in the day, the song linked below was one of my favorites…still like it although I no longer understand the words.

In the article linked below Ann Coulter does a great job of reminding us that actions do have consequences. Sometimes the consequence is death. There is no way that Linden can add to the efficiency of the article but he does wonder if there are still some Senators in office who assisted Kennedy.

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later I went to the post office, two banks and the credit union. I went by Pier 14 to see the intern whose truck I had touched with my passenger side mirror. She wasn’t in but I was told that there was no damage. Good news!!! I did two loads of wash and Dan and Diana came by for a visit: it is wonderful to see her feeling better.

Saturday I picked up my mail as I was on the way to a writers group meeting. Back home, I exchanged messages with Julie and Brian.

Sunday started with church and Sunday School attendance. Back home, because I had slept so poorly, I took a long nap in my recliner then had a nice phone visit with Julie. In the evening I went to church for an hour or so: a missionary couple we support was there for an update. It was nice to visit with them a bit…been a few years since I last saw them. The old Irish song linked below is one I had not heard before.
