COMMENTARY: CHOOSING TO DESTROY AMERICA:

Perhaps every decision made is a matter of choice: a gamble is made that the choice made is the best choice. So, it is not difficult to assume that one should always be very knowledgeable about exactly why the choice should be made in a certain way. It is Linden's opinion that our Constitution provided us with the foundation for a very good country and that this foundation was largely adhered to, with a relatively few improvements, until the domination of the leftist agenda became more and more prevalent. Recent years have been disastrous to our once lofty ideals. One only needs to study the voting records of the four extreme leftists now on our Supreme Court to be made aware of the damage the election of another Democrat to the Presidency would do to our once glorious nation. Checking the voting displayed in the attached article will provide an example of what is meant by this commentary.

Wednesday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A I then returned home and put the finishing touches on my State tax return and mailed it. Accomplished little else. For dinner I warmed up the remains of our dinner at the Mexican restaurant last night. In the evening I went to the Eagles lodge and helped stuff the Chamber of Commerce Welcome bags.

COMMENTARY: WOULD THEY REWARD ME?:

Of course not! If I offered to accomplish their goal for a much smaller waste of taxpayer money what would they do? Nothing. What should happen but will not, is that Congress will notify the State Department that they obviously have access to more funds than they really need and will cut their budget. That is a happy dream. Of course this is all in reference to the article linked below.

Tuesday started with me dropping off my recyclables and again going out for breakfast. When I returned home, Rich called and we joined some of the other Avon Legion members for lunch at the Danville Legion Post: first time I had been there and we were certainly well fed. Julie had just knocked on my door when we returned to my place. It was a happy surprise to see her. She had a business appointment so, when she left I went to the post office and by the Chamber of Commerce. In the evening Julie and Jade joined me for dinner at a Mexican restaurant then, back home, Stephanie, an Honor Flight Leader, came to talk to Julie about the upcoming Honor Flight. Later, we watched a movie that Jade wanted me to see. Almost forgot to mention that they brought me the Girl Scout cookies that I had ordered.

COMMENTARY: TERRORISM NOT CAUSED BY TERRORISTS?:

Linden listened to a bit of the Rush Limbaugh radio show Monday. Rush presented statistics that are rarely, if ever, part of the “news” imparted by the believers in liberalism Absolutely scary! Europe will have to have a tremendous change of direction or they are lost forever. Without a badly needed change of direction by the American political leaders, we are headed in the same direction. Friday started with Men's Prayer Breakfast. Later I did some writing and in the evening watched the first half of the I.U. basketball loss.

Saturday began with Sam and I going to breakfast at the Legion Post. Later, did some taxes, picked up mail, talked to Josh and Megan for a minute or so, and called Alison.

Sunday I attended the very good Easter service at church then joined Sam and Shirley, their daughter, Terry, and her friend, Adrienne, for brunch at Ft. Harrison. This has become a much appreciated tradition. Later, although I was too full to wiggle, I talked to Sheri and sent a message to Julie.

COMMENTARY: THE DISRUPTING CRIMINALS:

Linden believes that Rush Limbaugh is often the best news source available. On Monday he listened to about the first half of his radio program and it would be nice if you had listened tool. Rush made the case that those protesters who are disrupting the Trump efforts are probably in the pay of George Soros and, regardless, their actions are criminal in nature. Rush also addressed the opposition “the establishment” has for both Cruz and Trump because the primary establishment goal is the feathering of their own nest. It was a convincing presentation of both subjects.

Friday started with the Men's Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I picked up my mail, did some writing, and talked to Stephanie about the upcoming Honor Flight. Sent a note to Julie who I expect to join me on the flight. Carmen from Cardholder Services called again.

On Saturday John picked me up (it was too dark for me to drive) and we went to the men's meeting at Kingsway CC. Later, I went to a gas station, a grocery, and the post office. Did a bit of writing and watched Indiana win and Butler lose at basketball.

Sunday started with a couple of cereal bowls falling out of a cabinet and making a mess of broken glass on the floor. I attended church and Sunday School then had brunch with friends. I then was busy at home. The TV was not on at all today.

COMMENTARY: THE ESTABLISHMENT:

I was very busy at home during the day but had the radio on to the Rush Limbaugh Show while I was otherwise occupied. If I understood his message, he was saying in a very convincing way that “the establishment” cares about the Republican party a lot less than they do about themselves and they desperately want a candidate elected who will not upset their access to the available campaign dollars. Further, he indicated that neither Cruz or Trump is acceptable to the establishment. Therefore, it seems that a thinking voter will vote for Cruz or Trump and not waste their vote on any other person who appears on the ballot. My personal choice is Cruz but since a candidate should be selected by voters rather than the establishment, accepting Trump would not be a problem for me.

Monday started with breakfast at Chick-fil-A and good visits with Helen and John. From there, I went to the post office, got a haircut, and went back home for E-mail and phone visits with Julie. Dan and Diana dropped by for coffee and conversation. In the evening I went to a meeting at the Legion Post. My mail included a notice from the National Personnel Records Center saying that my military records have been destroyed but they did include a Certification Of Military Service which should serve as a replacement for the requested DD214. My thanks to Lori Turpin for addressing this matter for me.

Talking (or thinking) points at this stage could include the Ben Carson endorsement of Donald Trump: Linden was surprised. Or, mention could be made of Ted Cruz doing well in Wyoming. Friday began with Men's Prayer Breakfast at church. Later, talked to Brian and corresponded with Alison. Did paperwork and watched I.U. lose a basketball game.

On Saturday I went to a store and the post office and then on to a writers group meeting. Listened to an opera on RTE in the afternoon.

Sunday I attended church and Sunday School and was home the rest of the day.

COMMENTARY: A BROKERED CONVENTION?:

At this point, Linden is not much in favor of this means of selecting the Republican Presidential candidate because there are many people who could possibly end up the winner. You probably already know that Linden is hopeful that Ted Cruz will win the number of delegates to end up as the candidate and certainly it can't hurt that former candidates Carly Fiorina, Utah Senator Mike Lee, and talk show host Mark Levin have recently endorsed him. But, if Donald Trump should win both the Florida and the Ohio elections the chances of a brokered convention will become greater.

Wednesday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A followed by trips to a grocery and the post office. I had a great meeting with Stephanie, the Honor Flight representative. Corresponded with Julie. Read that Carly Fiorina, the most impressive female currently on the national stage, has endorsed Ted Cruz for President. The evening brought dinner and a study at church.

Thanks to Real Clear Politics for the info contained within this posting. Linden finds it interesting that the top two in this list of five are not favored at all by the Republican establishment and that no candidate has as many votes for as they do votes against. The following is from the report:

Trump: 384 delegates 3,596, 310 popular votes

Cruz: 300 delegates 2,994,245 popular votes

Rubio: 151 delegates 2,217,958 popular votes.

Kasich: 37 delegates 713,463 popular votes

Carson: 8 delegates 579,926 popular votes
