COMMENTARY: RATING PRESIDENTS, #5 & #9 :
There have been 13 Presidents that I remember as having held office in my lifetime. If things go as planned the next six weekends, starting 9-16-16, I will present my thoughts and evaluation of this group. Today I rate President Truman as number 5 and President Roosevelt as number 9.

President Truman was elevated to that office upon the death of President Roosevelt. By causing atomic bombs to be dropped on Japan he finalized the American victory in WW II, he supported South Korea in that war, he helped to found the United Nations (which was initially good,) and supported the formation of Israel and NATO. The negative opinions included the corruption during his Presidency and his differences with General MacArthur.
Accomplishments of President Roosevelt include the establishment of Social Security (later made less financially workable,) and many other government programs some of which were beneficial. Negatives include his failure to end the Great Depression until we enter WW II in his third term, his attempt to expand the Supreme Court by six members, and his internment of Japanese Americans.

COMMENTARY: THE FIRST DEBATE :
As is true of almost all interested people I had no idea what to expect from the debate and, as a Trump supporter, I was not disappointed. I thought Hillary appeared to be physically stronger than I expected, Trump did as well as I expected, and the moderator was not as biased in favor of the liberals as I expected. National security is very important to me and I think Trump should have pursued Hillary's inadequacy in that area in great detail. There is no doubt in my mind that the moderator neglected to ask Hillary the same type of questions that he asked Trump but, considering prevalent media bias, I was not surprised.
Today I did not make changes to anything from yesterday's mention of the linked articles.

Monday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A then I had my car tires rotated and picked up my post office mail. Corresponded with Julie and others after I returned home. I went to a Indy Defenders of Liberty West meeting in the evening: picked up a Trump-Pence sign for a friend and a “#DontBayhIt” Tee shirt for myself.

Linden was very pleased when the Target stores were boycotted by by a large number of former customers when they mindlessly adopted the Obama regime bathroom usage plan. Now, he would not mind at all seeing sports teams and their advertisers penalized to the same degree for their support of those disrespecting our flag. Friday started with Men's Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 then went to Plainfields Friendship Gardens at 11:30 to see The Indiana Bicentennial Torch being carried through the area. Dick Thompson brought it to Plainfield. I appreciate whoever oit was that nominated me to be a Torch Carrier even though I was not selected for the honor. While there I visited a bit with Dick and with Stephanie who is my Honor Flight primary contact.
Saturday brought the Legion breakfast at 8:30. Rich gave me some reading material and Eva invited me to an upcoming Saturday night affair. At he post office I visited a bit and was given a piece of really good peanut butter pie. I corresponded with Brian and watched I.U. lose a football game.
Sunday was a mostly quiet day: it started with church and Sunday School attendance and in the late afternoon I watched the Colts win at football.

COMMENTARY: RATING PRESIDENTS, #6 & #8:
There have been 13 Presidents that I remember as having held office in my lifetime. If things go as planned the next six weekends, starting 9-16-16, I will present my thoughts and evaluation of this group. Today I rate President H. W. Bush as number 6 and President Kennedy as number 8..

President H.W. Bush was in office when The Berlin Wall fell and East and West Germany was reunited and also waged a successful war against Iraq which freed Kuwait. He nominated Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. The Soviet Union Dissolved during his Presidency. On the negative side, what some view as dishonesty on the part of the democrat Congress Bush was forced to raise taxes and thereby void a campaign promise. It is probable that a third party candidate caused him to lose his reelection bid.
Accomplishments of President Kennedy could be viewed as The Cuban Blockade, the formation of The Peace Corps, and starting the effort to place a man on the moon. His negatives would include The Bay of Pigs fiasco, his blunders at The Vienna Summit, and his early steps leading to The Viet Nam war. It appears that his family money influenced the reporting involving his war record and his election.

COMMENTARY: MUSLIM TRUCK DRIVERS :
Although this is a relatively old case, it was just brought to my attention. It would seem to me that a person accepting a position as a delivery truck driver should know that they are being hired to deliver what ever the company is being paid to deliver. Maybe I think this way because I have so little faith in justice actually being dispensed in many of the cases brought before the current justice system. You can believe that I was not part of the jury.

COMMENTARY: Supporting Abuse Of Women? :
Linden was unable to secure a workable link to an article Bill provided...it was in the Sept. 16 Wall Street Journal and written by Kimberley Strassel. Since Linden believes that unfaithfulness in marriage is a a form of abuse, he selected an article of this type to link to today. He believes that carelessness with national security is criminal activity and makes Hillary Clinton unacceptable, others may believe that her other actions, or lack thereof, provides the same belief.

Friday started with Men's Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Dan & Diana came by.
Saturday I met with the Kingsway men at 7:30 and attended a Constitution Day affair at the Gov't. Center in Danville at 11:30. It was a very good program.
Sunday began with church and Sunday School attendance. Later, I watched the Colts lose a game.

COMMENTARY: RATING PRESIDENTS, #7:
There have been 13 Presidents that I remember as having held office in my lifetime. If things go as planned the next six weekends will present my thoughts and evaluation of this group. I rated President Nixon as number 7.
President Nixon was viewed as being anti communist, he pushed for school desegregation, ended the American participation in the Viet Nam war and had several other very worthwhile accomplishments. On the negative side, his involvement in the Watergate political scandal resulted in his resignation from office. Some of the things he was accused of seem to be rather commonplace now.

Today is a repeat of yesterday's links. For a short article I guess the first article linked below states it about as well as can be done and I will not even attempt to add to it.

Wednesday started with The Veterans Breakfast at Park Square Manor then I went on to the credit union and the post office. Shortly after, I had lunch with a friend. In the evening I had dinner and attended a study at church.
