Tuesday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A then dropped off donations and recyclables and picked up my post office mail. Had a good long phone visit with Brian. Unfortunately we will not be getting together until after Christmas. For some reason I was very tired today and took two long naps.

From yesterday's blog: “The fact that Trump won the recent election does not mean that efforts to demean or unseat him will not continue. They will as long as he is in office. Friday I went to the credit union, a bank , and the post office. Talked to Brian. Did a load of wash. Julie, Jade, and I had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Back home they collaborated on sewing a button on a pair of my trousers. Jade really likes my ukulele.
Saturday Sam and I had breakfast at the Legion Post and had some good visits there. Back home he inspected my Honor Flight picture album and took one of my books for Shirley to review. I watched I.U. win a football game and become bowl eligible then watched Notre Dame lose a game. Jade called as they neared home.
Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Little progress after that.

Thursday, Thanksgiving led to me going to Sam and Shirley's and on to The Gallery at Ft. Harrison for a wonderful buffet with them and others of their family and friends. Back home, Julie and Jade came by for a very nice visit: Brian called while they were here. After they left I watched the last part of the Colts losing effort in a football game

Linden has not followed the career of Steve Bannon at all but he does often approve of the writings that appear in Breitbart. Further, since many articles have been written that have been very critical of Bannon and the writers have not earned a reputation as being honest purveyors of the news Linden will consider him to be acceptable until proven otherwise. Monday started with trips to a store and the post office then I met Sam at a Greek restaurant in Indianapolis for a Dissolution Committee meeting. Back in Plainfield I went by the Chamber of Commerce, Kaye's Antique Barn to see Ron and then by the auto repair shop. Diana did not like the chair she sat in here so before going to meet Sam she and Dan brought a replacement. In the evening I went with the CDCMF group to Fairhaven CC for dinner and a program.

Friday started with Men's Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I picked up my mail and talked to Brian. Dan and Diana came by.
Saturday Lloyd picked me up at 7:15 and we went to the men's meeting at Kingsway. I went to a store and picked up my mail. The mail included a picture album sent by The Indy Honor Flight. There were three pictures of Julie and me in it and they brought tears to my eyes. I watched I.U. lose a football game.
Sunday started with church and Sunday School attendance. I watched the Colts win a football game.

Tuesday I went out for breakfast, picked up my mail then was busy at home until evening. Stephanie and Carol of The Indy Honor Flight picked me up at about 6:00 then, with Stephanie driving, we picked up two other veterans and the daughter of one of them and went to the Emmis offices on Monument Circle downtown Indianapolis. Had a great buffet dinner, WIBC broadcasters acted as the MC's with Josh Bleill and Matt Overton being the featured speakers. Matt, the Colts long snapper, displayed his talent as he donated an autographed football. Josh, who lost a great deal of both legs and suffered other injuries in Iraq, is a gifted speaker. I think his book “One Step At A Time” will be a good read. He remembered me from a previous meeting. I believe The Singer Financial Group underwrote the cost of this wonderful affair which was called “Hometown Heroes”. We old veterans were recognized several times. It was a great evening.

COMMENTARY: A SLIGHT CONTENT CHANGE:
it was my intention to present my thoughts regarding the upcoming lame-duck legislative session but read the article linked below and selected it instead. A black man, Lloyd Marcus puts my thoughts on paper really well. The only thing I would add is that maybe some of these black church “leaders” should read the passage in Revelation that addresses Church operation and judgment.

Friday started with the Men's Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Bill picked me up and we had a mostly free Veteran's Day lunch at Appleby's. It was very good. I talked to Brian, Julie, and Sheri and corresponded with Alison. Good day!
Saturday I had breakfast at home then went to the credit union, a bank, the post office, and a gas station. Did four loads of wash and stayed really busy at home. Corresponded with Julie, talked to Brian and others.
Sunday started with church and Sunday School attendance then in the afternoon I went to a Veterans related affair at the Legion Post. It was well done and enjoyable. The Auxiliary had prepared about 25 different soups to serve the attendees.

COMMENTARY: DANGEROUS DAYS EXAMPLE:
In the days that follow an election that will result in a change of controlling political parties it is not uncommon for the party that has just lost an election to try hard to place some favored employees or associates in plum Civil Service jobs. In today's world that could result in some liberal democrats being placed in jobs that should rightly be filled by career employees. The article linked below addresses this.

Thursday started with the usual breakfast with the guys at 8:00: I led the devotions. At 11:30 our usual Golden Glows luncheon consisted of an excellent Thanksgiving lunch prepared and served by the church staff. It kicked off with the staff singing a funny song. The whole affair was wonderful. Then Tommy and John Thomas Oaks presented a very good program in the church sanctuary. It was a great affair! Dan, Diana and Tory dropped by my place later.

COMMENTARY: DANGEROUS DAYS AHEAD:
I believe that Congress reconvenes November 14: you should know that the following lame-duck days are the time that Congress frequently passes legislation that is more than a little harmful to we American taxpayers. I expect that my commentaries in the days to come will address some of the items that should and should not be addressed in this period. I hope you will contact those who represent you in Congress to make your thoughts and fears known.

Tuesday I was moderately surprised but tremendously pleased when I heard the election results shortly after my night's sleep ended. Had a very good veteran's breakfast and visits at Park Square Manor: Rich joined me there. Then went by Voter Registration in Danville to thank them for their work. Back home, Julie called and we had a long and very good phone visit. I had dinner and attended a study at church in the evening.

COMMENTARY: A HOPED FOR RESULT:
I WENT TO BED BEFORE THE MOST MEANINGFUL ELECTION RESULTS WERE AVAILABLE. NOW WE CAN SEE IF THOSE MENTIONED BELOW ARE HONEST OR NOT. MY MONEY IS ON NOT.



Of course part of the result I would like to see in regard to today's election is for Trump and Pence to have a tremendous victory. But, there is something else to hope for: some of society's undesirables to actually be sincere in there stated intention to leave the country if the election doesnT provided them with their desired result.
