THE PARTY OF NO?

Linden looked at some of the reports concerned with those Republicans who are opposed to Senators Cruz and Lee. Found a few names but none that could be defined as those bravely fighting the forces of evil. Almost all of the daily news is concerned with the untruthfulness of our President and the many reasons why we should be proud of those who forcefully opposed the nightmare known as Obamacare. Could we identify as the party of no the democrats who were 100% against granting ordinary Americans the same rights that the President has granted to the favored not so few? One of Linden’s cherished memories is the few words he exchanged with Ronald Reagan…he did not deserve to have a liberal daughter. Not being a follower of Patti Davis in any regard it was slightly surprising and amusing to read of Ms. Davis complaining about how Obamacare is effecting her life, as is addressed in the link below. I have a deal for Patti: she need not purchase any of the books I have on Amazon and I will buy none of hers.

As a graduate of a “respected” Ivy League educational institution our President makes it increasingly difficult to accept their “high standards” with the claims that he was unaware of the NSA, Obamacare, Fast and Furious, IRS, and  Benghazi governmental shortcomings. Our choice seems to be that BHO is either mentally slow or a habitual liar. It is embarrassing for Linden to accept that BHO did well in the 2012 New Hampshire primary while Linden didn’t finish high enough to qualify as an also ran. Perhaps the problem lays with the voters within that State. The article linked below may support this thinking.

On Monday I made some progress on my projects, went to a store, the post office, and by the church and Pier 14. Received an update from Kosova, had a nice phone visit with Julie and probably the 30^th call that started “this is your second and final notice” and on to something about credit card costs. I wouldn’t do business with a company that can’t count.

I can hardly believe that such a worthwhile benefit was brought to Plainfield in 2002 by Rita Fiorentino and I hardly became aware of it until recently. On Saturday I went to their open house, was met at the door by Brad DuBois, and was shown around this impressive old house, meeting Rita and several friends as I marveled at the house, it’s furnishing, and it’s mission. This will not be my last visit. The link below will furnish you with better information than I could ever provide. Thank you God for bring Rita to Plainfield.

Friday I walked the short distance to church in the cold because my car wouldn’t start. Attended the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, Jack and Jim picked me up and we went to an enjoyable State Police retirees luncheon. When I got home, the car started, I took it by the shop and Robert said the battery seemed to be okay and maybe it is the starter. Hope not. Anyway, I’ll drive it until it fails again and re-examine then.

Saturday Sam drove out from Indianapolis and we had a great breakfast at the Legion Post in Avon. In the afternoon, attended “Soup’s On” at The Gathering Together in Plainfield.

Sunday it was church and Sunday school attendance and going to the 50^th wedding anniversary surprise for John and Charlene Schofield.

While searching for an acceptable subject for today’s posting, Linden encountered at least a half dozen references by learned “news” reporters sharing their “belief” that the Tea Party is history and that Ted Cruz borders upon being the anti-Christ. First, we should all realize that these “news” people are really just those who are trying to influence opinion. Much like Linden…except they are largely well paid. Linden’s opinion: the Tea Party will continue to appeal to concerned Americans and Ted Cruz is one of the few politicians who has the guts to stick to his promises. He should do well. Monday was spent at home except for the usual trip to the post office: Dan and Diana came by at noon to see if I wanted to join them for lunch. In the evening, a small group from church went to a CDCMF meeting at Connection Point in Brownsburg. Had a great meal and a good program.

Most efficient households, businesses, and governmental units operate best when they have some knowledge of how the budget process works and use this knowledge to the benefit of those effected. Friday started with the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast at church. Later, went with some Legion members to visit with some veterans at a care facility…got to feeling bad while there.

Saturday had a breakfast meeting with the guys at Kingsway church. Still not feeling great so didn’t attend my writers group meeting. Watched I.U. lose in an interesting football game.

Consider that Obama has been in the White House for almost five years and that his clone, Harry Reid, has led the Senate for longer than knowledgeable voters should have allowed. Also consider that the democrats have been in the majority in both Houses much of the time. Now, for the questions:

1. Have you or do you know someone who has been adversely affected by an increase in healthcare cost? Who or what is responsible for this?

2. Have you or do you know someone who has lost their job within this five year period? Who or what is responsible for this?

3. Federal budget deficits hit one trillion dollars for the first time ever and so remained for this five year period. Who or what do you hold responsible?

4. Insulting veterans has become commonplace at the federal level. Who or what do you hold responsible?

5. Poorly developed unemployment statistic are the highest in over seventy years. Who or what do you hold responsible?

6. Have your working hours been reduced and do you know others in this condition? Who or what do you hold responsible.

This ends this questionnaire; it may be repeated in some form if the response so warrants. Clue: the correct answer to all six questions is not George Bush.

With all deliberate speed (joke) the Senate under the leadership of Harry Reid and the patriotic oversight (joke) of President Obama is moving toward a bill that will avert (possible joke) the government shutdown. If the shutdown does occur, it is hard to say what the end result will be…little is said about that and the concern spreads beyond the shores of America. To this point, negotiations have revealed practically no flexibility on the part of the President (although he talks about it a lot) (great talker, lousy leader), or the two bodies that make up Congress. All are expecting the Republicans to cave on their hopes for a more responsible government. So far, in spite of the words of the opposition and the responsible (joke) media, the Tea Party members have appeared to Linden to be the only ones really concerned about the well being of the country.

Sunday started with church and Sunday school attendance and in the afternoon Julie and Jade came by for a very nice visit. We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Jade, now five, has grown taller since she was last here. Lovely child in every regard!

The high point of Friday was the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at PCC, Saturday it was the breakfast meeting of men at Chapel Rock Christian church followed by watching I.U. beating Penn State in a football game, and Sunday it was church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends and then watching the Colts win their football game. The Sunday morning message from the pulpit is the most important of my various attempts to come closer to God. Steve White continued presenting sermons based upon the book of Ephesians. Sunday school, led by John Lee, focused upon the book of John. Following Wednesday night dinner, Tim Gephart drew from multiple sources to present his lessons. The Thursday small group men’s meeting included readings presented by Paul, Wayne, Chuck, and myself. The Friday early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast led by Steve White completed the study of Habakkuk and started Isaiah, and the once a month meeting of men at Kingsway, Chapel Rock, and CDCMF. The CDCMF meeting this month was at Plainfield Christian. CDCMF supports Camp Allendale

The work has started at Plainfield Christian’s children’s wing has started and the blacktopping of the additional parking area is, due to rain, at least two weeks behind schedule.

Wednesday started with a trip to a bank, a shop, and the post office. Had a phone visit with Brian, Julie and I missed each other a couple of times. Had dinner and attended a program at the church in the evening.

DID MY PRESIDENT LIE?

Linden has to admit that he thinks that he did and, further, that he does not see that as anything out of the normal. An almost ignored TV clip of Obama speaking in the Rose Garden? found Obama repeating that the Republicans are solely responsible for the government shutdown. Hardly!!! The last of the CRs that had been offered by the Republican controlled House called for Congress to suffer the same pains of Obamacare as Americans, excepting those favored by Obama, are suffering. The CR also called for a delay in the implementation of Obamacare in the same manner as it has already been delayed by Obama. The democrat Senate of course rejected this fair offer and thereby did the wishes of Obama.

On Tuesday I dropped off my recyclables, picked up mail, and had breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Later, worked on projects and corresponded some with Brian. In the evening, had dinner at the Avon Legion Post and watched an old TV movie: Singin In The Rain. Liked it.

For years and particularly in the years of the Obama presidency, the federal government has apparently been completely devoid of the knowledge that one cannot continue to spend more than they receive.

Although the democrat Senate was presented with not less than three CRs that would have averted the current government shutdown, they chose to not accept any of these opportunities. Particularly telling was the rejection of the CR that would have caused the Congress and the White House to abide by the same Obamacare rules that are being forced upon the American public and would have delayed the implementation of this monstrosity in the same manner as has been granted to those favored by Obama. The article in the below link is particularly well thought out and written.

I had a morning appointment with the heart doctor in Danville…no current bad news…see him again in six weeks. The rest of the day was filled with normal activities.
