As was mentioned in the Tuesday blog posting, Linden simply does not have the necessary disposable income to contribute to nearly all of the candidates he would very much like to financially support. Tomorrow he will mail a small donation to the campaign of Todd Akin who is the Republican opposing incumbent democrat Senator Claire McCaskill in Missouri. Linden, having made many blunders in his life, sympathizes with Mr. Akin who made just such a speaking and thinking blunder while on the campaign trail. The choice then is between a Conservative who is not perfect and a democrat who was a virtual clone of Harry Reid and President Obama. Surely no thinking person would want such a clone.

On Wednesday, I went to a gas station, by the church, and to the post office. About two weeks ago I scraped some skin off of my left arm while entering the P.O….today was the day to remove some skin from my right leg as I exited my car. I may quit picking up my mail. In the evening, had dinner and attended a class at church.

The contents of the speech President Obama made to the United Nations was widely and rightfully panned in the conversations and writings Linden was exposed to on Tuesday. Some may have preferred the following words:

As a humanitarian gesture this advance warning is issued: within the next 72 hours an area of not less than one square mile surrounding the former U.S. Consulate in Benghazi will be reduced to rubble. As a nation, we will not take kindly to any organized protest. In an unrelated matter, U.S. funding of this organization will be limited to matching the contribution of the nation that provides the minimum. Thank you for your attention.

It is an unfortunate fact that Linden is not financially prepared to donate to each and every political candidate that he feels deserves monetary support. Rep. Bachman is the first rewarded in this election cycle. Her suggestion that the security clearance of Huma Abedin is, in Linden’s estimation, what any person who has an interest in national security should support. In this vein, Linden believes that the lack of support for her, as shown by Senator McCain and other “leaders” is further evidence that they should seek other employment. One must wonder if these “leaders” may have reconsidered their stance after the recent uprisings in Libya and Egypt. The note near the bottom of the comments section in the link below explains her exact request.

Since I awakened very early, Monday was a sleepy day for me and is to be blamed for my not unusual lack of accomplishment on this day. Did make a trip to the post office to pick up mostly junk mail. Attended the Tea Party meeting in Avon in the evening. Speakers were: Barbara Quandt, State Director, NFIB and Todd Rokita, 4^th District Congressman. I needed to leave early so didn’t get to hear Todd speak. Shortly after I arrived home, Brian called as he was driving home from Cleveland. His seatmate from Madrid to New York was a 70 year old woman who had just walked the last 110 km of The St. James Way…I did the longer pilgrimage when I was 75 and she also had climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro…something that Brian and Julie had nixed for me. She was also a writer…we are soulmates.

In his interview with this Spanish language network, the President was mentioned by several of the usual pundits as being subjected to some tough questions…they seemed surprised, and well they should, because our MSM is apparently incapable of asking him a tough question. Disgraceful!! The interview was given enough coverage that you probably already know as much as you want on this subject. However, the links offered below do address this subject…Linden thinks the video could be better but the transcript seems to cover the subject well. Linden also thinks that the Latino viewers may be less enthralled with his honesty and speaking ability than they may have previously been.

Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I went to two groceries, by the church and to the post office. Also did a load of wash and made my first ever attempt to make an apple cobbler. Barely edible!
Saturday started with breakfast at the Avon American Legion Post. Back home, I did some ironing and little else of consequence.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance, brunch with friends and watching the Colts lose a football game.

Please don’t think for a moment that Linden is endorsing this woman or that he has lost his mind…no, it simply means that she was justified in her approach to leading the 219 democrat House members who voted for this monstrosity. To no avail all 178 Republicans and 34 reasonably sane democrats did vote against it. Now we (the taxpayers) are made aware that the number of people who may be hit in the pocketbook by the penalty imposed far exceeds the original estimate and that the cost may be $1,200.00 per family. At the Monday evening meeting, Steve Ranson treated us to a very good presentation. Within his talk, he mentioned Mother Teresa’s written response to a request for guidance in working with her ministry. Her words: “Find Your Own Calcutta” struck a chord with Linden. Many of us are attempting to use our efforts to produce good results for others and, in that regard, her advice is good for each one of us. A related link follows.

Linden first met Richard Mourdock about ten years ago…was favorably impressed then and have remained so. He would be expected to bring a more conservative, taxpayer friendly approach to the Senate. We, as a nation, desperately need to do away with the democrat Senate control.
Donnelly has been attempting to change his image to that of a conservative: don’t be fooled! In Linden’s opinion, he is a virtual clone of President Obama and Senator Harry Reid.  The Club For Growth rated Donnelly at 9% out of a possible 100%, he ranked # 361 out of the 430 rated. The Citizens Against Government Waste ranked Donnelly at 13% out of a possible 100% and considers him to be hostile to taxpayers. The National Taxpayers Union rated him at 28% out of a possible 100% and gave him a grade of D. Conservative, taxpayer friendly? Hardly!

The recent events in Libya and, to a lesser degree, Egypt illustrate what a major Presidential selection mistake was made in The U.S. in 2008. IS PRESIDENT OBAMA TOO WHITE?
This blog title is presented as Linden attempts to get into the mindset of some of those who voted for this disaster for America President. In their minds, surely a half white candidate would be decidedly inferior to one that is all black. Recent comments regarding convention speeches would tend to lend validity to this thought: The speech delivered by the President was largely panned while the one given by his wife was considered to be superior. Since Linden watched neither of these speeches, he really does not know. Friday began with attendance at the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, Dan and Diana came by, I talked to Julie, and did some errands.
Saturday, there was a meeting of the Avon Writers Group. Later, I listened to Indiana U. win their second football game of the season and in the evening, watched a really good boxing match.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school services and brunch with friends. I then watched the Colts lose their game and I talked to Brian. I fried the green tomato that Sam gave me…it was ok but not as good as some fixed by other cooks.
Monday, I was unable to post the blog due to lack of broadband access. I went to a grocery, the credit union, a bank, and the post office.

Linden watched very little of the convention on Wednesday night and was not enthralled with what he did see. Heard and read plenty about it on Thursday. The democrats talk much about the war on women being waged by the Republicans and then they have a portion of their convention dedicated to Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton was a featured speaker. Since Linden had little time for blog subject selection he will just bring you a snapshot. You probably already know that he is not a prime candidate to start an Obama admiration society. So, today, he will just bring you a bit from Michelle’s convention speech, his comments regarding it and a link to a related article. “You won’t believe what these folks are going through, Michelle…” is the bit Linden selected from within the speech transcript. Linden is well aware of her earlier statement when at an advanced age she is reported to have said, “for the first time, I am proud…”. Linden at that time thought that perhaps she is a slow learner. Now, to see the report of what her husband said she won’t believe, in spite of all the news regarding personal hardship due to job loss, doctored unemployment statistics, national debt, food stamp usage, etc, etc, it is hard to not believe that the slow learner thought is accurate. Tuesday brought a breakfast of biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A followed by stops at a grocery, a gas station, and the post office. I slept so poorly last night that I tried, and failed, to take a nap when I returned home. Dan and Diana dropped by for coffee and conversation. Julie sent three pictures of Jade’s first day at school…they were great! Had a great evening meal at the Legion post in Avon.

It may be untrue but Linden did hear that the coverage of the Republican Convention by the three major networks plus several other well known TV news providers was a miserable job of providing desirable coverage. Linden watched CSPAN and the coverage was very good. Perhaps those that watched on another network should complain to those who advertise thereon. Linden even heard that most, if not all, of those mentioned above, for some probably politically motivated reason, failed to provide coverage of black and Hispanic speakers. Perhaps “LOVES” should be replaced by “IS INDEBTED TO”. After all, love should entail something more than a long conversation regarding computer problems and the subsequent resolution thereof. AOL Customer Service is fortunate to have Heidi and Linden is fortunate too.
Since the primary purpose of this blog is to provide political education, we should now switch over to a couple of comments in that area. There appears to be a double standard employed by the democrats and much of the MSM in regard to comments made by Joe Biden and those such as Todd Akin. Also, there is some talk about referring to September 3 as “Empty Chair Day” in commemoration of the Clint Eastwood speech at the Republican Convention.

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 and ended with some TV watching. In between was a nice, long talk with Julie, trips to a grocery and the post office, and doing a load of wash.

On Saturday, I attended the men’s meeting at Chapel Rock with Lloyd, talked to Brian, Sheri, and Alison, watched two horse races…if I had been betting , I would have won one and lost the other, watched a bit of NASCAR racing and the Indiana Hoosiers win their first football game of the season.
Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance and a whole lot of rain plus the computer repair talk mentioned above.
