GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN?

Late Saturday night or early Sunday morning the House passed a bill that could prevent a government shutdown if the democrats under President Obama and Harry Reid will only consider that immediate implementation of Obamacare is less important than the damage done by a shutdown. Although Linden disagrees with the title of the below link, it is still worth your time to read it.

Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. As usual, this early rising left me tired all day. Talked to Brian, Paul came by and Donna brought chili.

Saturday started with breakfast at the Avon American Legion Post. Later, watched a football game and worked on projects.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. Watched the Colts win a football game. In the early evening Lloyd called to tell me of a TV show about the Camino de Santiago. I caught the last part of the show and it reminded me of my pilgrimage in Spain eight years ago. Brought tears to my eyes.

VOTE NO ON CLOTURE!!!

VOTE NO ON CLOTURE!!!

If Linden is correct, the vote on cloture will occur this afternoon. If there are sufficient no votes there will remain the possibility of Obamacare being defunded. For the good of ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and all succeeding generations a no vote is needed on cloture. If this should result in Obamacare being defunded then, if the President should veto the bill, he alone would be responsible for any harm that should come to any person. Even he is possibly not pigheaded enough to take that upon himself. The link below expands upon these thoughts.

Only Chuck, Paul and I were present for our Thursday breakfast meeting but, it was good anyhow. Later, I went to two groceries and the post office. Had a busy day at home and had a nice phone visit with Julie.

SENATOR TED CRUZ: MAN OF THE YEAR

Linden has waited a long time to hear a Republican come forward with a well thought out opposition to Obamacare, favoritism, and responsibility lack by our elected leaders. Ted Cruz provided all this and more with his filibuster.

Linden started listening to the filibuster shortly after it started, went out to dinner and resumed watching until bedtime, around 10:30. Awakening at 3:00, he watched maybe another 45 minutes, went back to bed and watched more after arising around 7:30 until about 11:00. Absolutely the most TV he has watched in years and it was great!! It is doubtful that many democrats will follow his direction and for those Republicans, if any, who do not follow his lead, you should face a primary opponent.

As mentioned above, I spent much more time than usual watching TV on Tuesday and Wednesday. I met Sam for lunch in Indianapolis after talking to Kelley at the State Police Pioneers for a while. In the evening, had dinner and attended a program at church.

Tuesday found me dropping off my recyclables, going on to the post office, and returning home. Dan and Diana dropped by in the afternoon for coffee and conversation. Listened to some of Senator Cruz filibustering regarding Obamacare. I hope to find a transcript of his inspired speaking.

Linden never expected Nancy Pelosi to say something as thoughtless as was her comment regarding passing the Obamacare bill. As evidenced in the below link, she just has the ability to make statements that defy logic. One has to feel that her supporters are not all that bright either. Do you personally know anyone who can think of nothing that should be cut from the federal budget?

My Monday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A and then on to the post office. Got a haircut in the afternoon and attended a Tea Party meeting in the evening. Watched some boxing before bedtime.

BLESS THOSE HOUSE REPUBLICANS

Following the overwhelming support the Republicans gave to those who do not want Obamacare, it is now up to the democrats to take the actions which would cause the government “shutdown”. Of course, they and President Obama could act to do away with Obamacare but that is not likely in spite of the fact that Obama has granted waivers to his supporters and probably all except Obama, Reid, and Pelosi know deep down that they passed a really bad bill. The vote totals clearly show the difference between the two parties. The Republicans voted 228 to 1 for the bill and the socialist, liberal, democrat group voted 188 to 2 against it. We can expect every possible crooked effort to be made by the democrats to thwart the wishes of the people. The link below further addresses this matter.

Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast then the Linda Ferrell funeral and trips to the post office, credit union, and grocery. Was tired all day.

Saturday started with the men’s breakfast at Kingsway and later watched some football but didn’t like the results.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance followed by brunch with friends. John Lee, following his heart attack, surprised me by being there to teach Sunday school.

Thursday started with breakfast with the guys at 8:00. From there, I went to the hospital in Danville to see Sherry Chittenden before her operation for a broken hip. It was raining pretty heavily at that time. Back home, after picking up my mail, I stayed busy with the usual tasks.

Linden started to suspect that Jeb Bush was not a worthy presidential candidate when he voiced opinions regarding immigration. Now, by presenting Hillary Clinton with a Liberty Medal, J.B. has verified that the original suspicion regarding his worthiness was absolutely correct. The truth of it is that Hillary Clinton over her years of “service” has displayed an astonishing lack of desirable ability in any regard. Lying to protect Bill does not count. Friday brought the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00 then the usual activities and, in the evening, attended a very nice memorial service for Les Woolard.

Saturday’s high point was watching the I.U. football team win a game.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. Later, watched the Colts lose a game. Short correspondences with Brian and Julie.

My almost two week visit with Brian & family in Ohio, followed by my surgery and continuing recuperation has left me feeling like I an woefully behind on completing the various projects I’m involved with. Aaaargh!

For Thursday I set my alarm for 6:30 so I could do my blog posting before my Thursday breakfast meeting. On Wednesday my power was off while I was at the hospital. So, when my alarm went off, I got up, posted the blog and then looked at my watch...it was not yet 1:00 A.M.! So, I went back to bed...I had not reset the time on my alarm clock after the power outage. When I did get up, I went to the enjoyable breakfast and at 11:30 went to the Golden Glows monthly pitch-in…good food and an excellent speaker. I was tired all day.
